My Blue Hotel Zanzibar

Das My Blue Hotel ist sehr schön und sauber. Der Pool ist das absolute Highlight. Aus dem Pool aus kann man den Sonnenuntergang super genießen. Am Strand gab es immer viele freie Liegen, so dass man zu jeder Uhrzeit eine Platzauswahl hatte. Das Personal hat täglich Kokosnüsse am Strand verteilt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, Essen lecker und Frisch, Abendprogramm war abwechslungsreich, ein sehr sauberes Hotel. Wir würden es jedem weiterempfehlen. Die Lage sowie der Strand sind super. Im Hotel werden Massagen angeboten zu einem guten Preis. Wir haben den Urlaub in vollen Zügen genossen. Das Internet war allerdings meist schlecht. Im Zimmer kaum Empfang. Dies hat Verbesserungspotenzial.

A fantastic place. Nice location and surrounding. Seems modern and yet authentic - in our eyes. The staff was mostly very helpful, and smiling and happy. And what performances they always do. Every night there where different kind of late night shows. After dinner, or during dinner. In different spots of the hotel area. Very impressive and so nice to be a part of and have experienced. The dinner evenings on the beach was no more than absolute fabulous. But sorry to say - the food was nearly terrible. We have been in some different parts of the world, in many type of hotels, and tried som different food. But this was, excuse me.. terrible. Almost everything tastet the same. The same grilled. And that was not good. We are so sorry for this, because of the nice people and fantastic hotel and place and surroundings. But unfortunately it did destroy too much of our holiday feeling this week. Ate at other restaurants nearby the latest days, and this saved us. We will still recommend you to go there, hoping that we were just unlucky. There are plenty of other place to eat and dine very close.

Really not happy with our stay here. The hotel is full of Italian package tourists who have booked all inclusive so the big event for them is the lunch and dinner buffet. We don’t like all inclusive because we like to experience different dining venues and restaurants during our travels. Problem here is that if you don’t wear the all inclusive wristband, you’re almost looked down upon as if we would be the cheap tourists not willing to pay for a lunch and dinner buffet. We are well traveled and not even picky eaters but The menu for those of us not having their buffet is so limited and if such as or quality, it led to great disappointment: at high tide, you can’t walk along the beach to any other restaurant so you are trapped. The only thing on the menu which we found acceptable was a portion of French fries. If you don’t get up early and “claim a lounge chair” at the beach/infinity pool, there is no way to get one. They reserve them with their towels all day and even bribe the towel boys to put towels for them. We paid extra for an ocean view suite -there are only five of them. That means you are forced to hear the entire animation show every night until they finish between 10-11 PM. This was very distrurbing. The mattress was very very hard, but somehow we got used to it as there was no other choice. The room was fine, good water pressure, good hot water, and some friendly staff, especially Elizabeth in the restaurant. Infinity pool is nice with a beautiful view and a good temperature, and the beach is great. The main pool is nice. They have a gym but the equipment is old and worn. Pool and ping pong supposedly available until 22:00 but all the lights were turned off and there were no pool balls so it’s almost like false advertising. Housekeeping came to do our room one day at 4 PM, just when we had returned from a day out and we wanted to shower. We asked her to come again at 4:15 PM. We left the room at 4:15 PM, found her, topper her 10 USD, and when we came back at 10 PM, the room had not been done. I could go on. But to end this; if you book an economic all inclusive it’s probably great value. But as an individual guest who paid more than 300 USD per night , this place is far from elevated and I would definitely not stay here again. Note that we have visited 110 countries and stayed in accommodation of all types. We rarely complain and rarely write a negative review but due to our experience here, I was compelled to write this.

My Blue Hotel in Zanzibar fell short of expectations in several key areas during my recent stay. Catering mainly for "all inclusive" mass tourism, the hotel is seemingly set up to accommodate a large number of guests at once. However, this focus on quantity over quality appeared to have a negative impact on the overall guest experience. Overall, my experience at My Blue Hotel in Zanzibar was far from satisfactory. With inconsistent and inefficient staff, clueless reception, below-average food, and inconsistent cleaning service, the hotel failed to meet the standards one would expect from a hospitality establishment in a popular tourist destination. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Zanzibar and would suggest looking for alternative accommodations that prioritize guest satisfaction and service excellence.

Rooms are basic, sometimes smell from drainage, Wi-Fi often not working. Beach bar and servis ok, pool bar horrible,arrogant guys serving there should be replaced. Meals Are fine, if you Are adaptable. Beach full of Massais and others, but Its same everywhere.They Are not allowed on hotel ground

Our best holiday ever. We enjoyed it a lot, mainly thanks to the staff. Nice and equipped rooms, great food and drinks. Big thanks to Elias and Fatima - who know how to cheer up in any situation. I don't think this hotel deserves a lower rating than hotels in the area

Avoid this hotel. Worst hotel for it’s price. Rooms are need renovation. Old style and with bad food. Hotel will selling you ordinary things which are not for sale. They charge us Michelin star Restaurant price for new year diner but it was ordinary dinner as it was day before and just because we dont know that they selling us “nothing” we pay for this dinner . Be careful, if you decide to book with them. They will sell you expensive “nothing”

Don’t go there! Worst experience, major mold in rooms, no AC working so sheets are wet because of that. Tired unhelpful staff in reception. After a long time waiting, then arguing and at last we had to be angry, they offered another room, same problems there though… We said we want to leave and have a refund, we had paid 900$ for the smallest, and it was small, room where the shower was hardly working. The Italian manager refused a refund and blamed “the company”. We said you can at least pay for our taxi but they refused even that. Worst service ever. We booked another hotel, Pongwe Bay Resort, and we ended up in heaven. A manager standing behind the reception desk and yelling at the staff in front of the guests say something about this place. Please, find another hotel and you will be so much happier.

Very good hotel, close to everything you need. Very good structure in front of the beach.
