I cannot believe I met a ******** security guard in a 5 star hotel. I reached the hotel late@3:30am. The external car park was full. So I tried to enter to the basement car park. It takes a room key card to get into it, but I have yet to check in that time. And I saw there’s a security guard walking to me. So I requested nicely to him to let me enter 1st then only proceed for checking in. He rejected me & insisted I need to check in 1st. It was 3:30a.m(!) & I’m real exhausted after a long journey. So I tried to request frm him again though he sounded unfriendly. Again, he Insisted I gotta check in 1st & rejected me straight. Fine, I bear with it & drove my car to the lobby main entrance. Unfortunately I met him somewhere again before I reached the main door. He blocked my car, & said I was against the traffic & insisted me to reverse my car & to follow their traffic circulation. I told him I was gonna drop my wife at the main door to proceed for checkin in only & it was 3:30am there was no other moving vehicle besides me & the road was definitely wide enough for both way traffics & it’s within hotel compound somemore. Well, he still insisted & Not willing to help/tolerate at all, AGAIN. I couldn’t help anymore & asked for his name. To my surprise, he walked arrogantly towards me & said “ni ni nama saya, saya Fami, head of security!” Real ********! Am I talking to a security guard in a night club or a 5 star hotel? So I reverse my car AGAIN, follow their traffic circulation before I parked at the valet parking. Then only I proceed to escalate the issue to the Duty Manager, Akmal. Akmal acted so nonchalant to my complaint & said “it’s ok, it’s ok, just write a email to complaint”. Jaw dropping, AGAIN? Me too. So I asked for his name also this time. He didn’t answer but wrote me the hotel’s email instead. WOW. I then asked again for his name, then only he revealed unwillingly to me. W/o hesitate, I sent a complaint email around 10am. To my surprise Again, their DIRECTOR of marketing & communication, Siti only replied & apologize BY EMAIL@4:30pm. Very general & in a standard format indeed. So No one ever wanted to understand the issue more before this email. So this is the way they handled dispute/ their guest complaint. My car cam nicely recorded the whole incident & conversation that night.
Frankly I will not waste my $ & time being ill-treated like this again. Plenty of nice hotel here in Penang after all.
