Hotel Solarena, BW Premier Collection

I was disappointed with my stay at Sonder Solarena. The price for 1 night was very expensive, considering the quality of the room. It felt unwelcoming, with a very strong smell of bleach in the room, which was even stronger in the bathroom. The bathroom was poorly equipped and seemed to have been used a lot, not very clean. The AC was not efficient and too noisy, I had to turn it off. The location is close to the beach, but far from the town center, and just along the main road, so the surroundings were not enjoyable, and noisy. This was not worthy of the price I paid for the stay. I would not recommend.

The walls are paper thin you can hear what other people are doing in nearby rooms. The freeway is right outside your door. Overall very noisy and they charge you 45$ to check in early. I would have rather stayed somewhere quiet with decent thickness walls

Great location! Close to the beach which is all we wanted. Small rooms but comfortable. Could use a vending machine in the lobby maybe. Would have been nice to buy water and candy after hours as local places close so early.

I loved my second stay at the Sonder Solarena! I could see a sliver of the ocean from my 3rd floor bedroom window. The close proximity to the beach (literally across W Coast Hwy) makes it a perfect location for enjoying beach activities without the hassle of finding parking. There is a stoplight and crosswalk to safely navigate crossing the highway and this Sonder hotel has its own dedicated parking lot. The room feels like having your own apartment with a mini fridge, coffee maker & tea pot. I feel safe in the building even though it would be reassuring for there to be a security guard on duty overnight since this is located on a busy highway and in an active beach community. The hotel is neighbors to some excellent restaurants, my favorite being EAT Chow which offers a selection of delicious foods and wonderful wines. There are two microwave ovens in the lounge common area of the hotel building for guests to use. A liquor store is located two doors down for convenient grab & go items. During this particular stay, I spent an afternoon sitting on the beach and was lucky to see a pod of active dolphins playing in the ocean. I love the Sonder Solarena!

Always a nice relaxing stay. We love being able to walk across the street to the beach. Friendly staff and just an easy place to check in and out of. Decent restaurants within walking distance. Thank you Sonder.

Soft mattress, Thick pillows so these were opposite from what I'm used to but I slept fine until someone left the building because Room 106 is right by the door to go outside. Not happy with paying $80 in parking but you're in California, pay everywhere to park. The location was great for me because I rode my bike to the beach every day to see the Pacific Air Show. Remember your 6 digit code that is emailed 3 days prior, used to enter. Overall, even with the loud banging of the door as people are going in or out, it was peaceful and quiet.

The room was nice and clean, sheets were soft and the beds were comfortable, the location is right across from Newport Beach, the staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed 2 nights here and 1 night in Laguna Beach.

My wife and I enjoyed the clean room. Lots of space. Very close to the beach. The check-in was easy. Staff very friendly. Plenty of good parking. Great access to prime sites such as food and shopping.

Amazing hotel. Beautiful area. Loved the fresh, ocean air in the morning. Great location with a lot of cafes and restaurants. Super nice staff. Very kid-friendly. Parking price is reasonable which is a big deal in California. Very casual but super comfortable.
