Red Roof Inn & Suites Newark - University

Didn't even stay the whole night. Our building was #4 which was hard to find, and the "pathway" to rhe entrance was between two buidlings whoch had no lighting. My husband and i were with our two young children and everyone we came across was sketchy (peering out of windows, pointing to us from down the street, people congregating on the stairs and whispering). Wven during check in, the clerk was telling me about some lady who kept bothering everyone who walked by. The showers were rusty and the fridge was not clean. We stayed long enough to grab a quick shower and leave to find another hotel Total waste of money!!

You know what you get when you reserve RRI. Not very safe with beds on wheels. Never seen that before. Overall could use a refresh.

Too many keys didn't work. Even after switching rooms. Some lights didn't work in both rooms.too much running around while I was sick.

Found bugs in out bed. When we complained they asked for a picture of it and we didn’t have one. They did accommodate us with a new room, but that room had dead cockroaches on the fridge. We took a picture and told the front desk and were told we had to call the general manager.

Toilet would not flush. Called the front desk and was told to come and get a plunger, but be sure to bring it back . Also, water would not drain properly out of bathroom sink. Drain plug would not pop up. Alarm clock was unplugged and could not set time properly after plugging it in. Heat lamp switch in bathroom was falling out of the wall.

There were roaches in the room was given a new room and it still had roaches! So beware coming to this hotel come with bug spray!!!

Unfortunately the linen was old and stained from prior use. In addition, there were roaches. I would not recommend them as a 2.5 star, it should be adjusted to 2.0 based on these factors.

Staff was super nice. Easy checkin and out. Price so reasonable that u may expect less but it was clean & comfy - just not fancy - this was a perfect spot to stay when traveling and visiting family

This was exactly what I needed on my road trip from NH to Florida. The bed was super comfy.
