Hotel Penwig

The food at this venue was reasonably priced and tasted good. It is a pub which serves good pub food. If you are in New Quay and fancy an evening meal I would recommend this place. The food came out quick, the staff were friendly and the drinks were ice cold.

This is a lovely venue hotel/pub facing the quay with excellent views for when you are dining or just having drinks. We liked it so much we visited a few times the food is very good at reasonable prices. I also have to add just how friendly and accommodating the staff is even in what was the ‘ low season ‘. Extremely welcoming well appointed hotel with fantastic views of Cardigan Bay, the staff are very professional and make sure your needs are met. The bar is great with a good range of beers and wine and the food is of a good pub standard. The hotel welcomes dogs, we stayed in room 8 which is split over two floors with a bathroom and twin beds downstairs and a king size bed upstairs both rooms had big tv’s. A great place to stay in New Quay.

We came here a few times during our weeks stay in New Quay it’s a friendly, clean & welcoming bar ( we were not staying in the hotel) we had our two Labradors with us & on entering the first time were directed to the side of the bar where dogs are welcome which was a big section of the bar too not a little corner out of sight. A good selection of drinks including local ales. They also do food and we ate here on a couple of occasions and food came quickly was cooked fresh, was very reasonably priced & was very tasty. They also do a lunchtime specials menu. Staff are welcoming & the location over looks the harbour & coastline. There is a decent sized outside seating area at the front of the pub & on a sunny day I can see this being a popular place to sit out and eat, drink & look for dolphins crossing the bay.

Amazing stay here last night The moment we were shown to our room it was wow factor we were in room 7 which was lush The sea views from all 4 windows was awesome seating area too to admire the views was comfortable and spacious We had an excellent nights sleep bed was so comfy Staff were very friendly and welcoming we ate also in the restaurant(booking advisable as gets busy) Food delicious both in the evening and morning for breakfast Absolutely excellent value for money

Absolutely wonderful staff were very friendly food was excellent very good value for money we stayed in room 7 top floor very clean Very friendly town felt very welcome didn't make you feel like a tourist saw dolphins in the bay Would highly recommend

Stayed 5 nights here recently,the hotel is good and in a great location, The bar service is the slowest I have ever experienced and after having a meal cancelled due to covid(they did call me to let me know)we rearranged the meal for 2 days later and once more was cancelled and this time they didn’t let me know. We finally got our meal on our last night and boy what a disappoin**ent,I had the chicken tikka and rice luckily we had a view of the kitchen so I could see the cook drop my boil in the bag curry in a pan of hot water and then empty the rice from another bag onto my plate,poor quality overall,the service from the bar is painfully slow when it wasn’t really that busy,and when the cooks are not that busy is it really professional for one of them to stand behind the bar eating their dinner,rooms are worth it but avoid the food at all costs

A fantastic weekend at the Penwig. All staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Food and drink in the hotel bar was great and rooms were clean and comfortable Location was also superb for the coastal path

Great central place to stay. friendly staff. No parking on site but there is near by. Lovely size room and whilst we didn't ask for a view of the sea you could look out the window and see / hear the sea.
