This place was truly disgusting. I’ve stayed in yurts and tents and god-knows-what all over the world and this was absolutely the worst experience of all of them. These people have no respect whatsoever for their customer or for common decency in general. I have never experienced such disregard for standards or people. My father died in August. I had to be with my mother Labor Day weekend and this was the only room available in town. $250 dollars a night!! But what could I do? So I forked it over. The room was vile. The stench of air freshener was so strong it was nauseating. I can only wonder what they were trying to cover up with that. There was a hole in the wall - above an outlet, probably a fire hazard - stuffed with toilet paper. The paint was moldy and peeling all around the toilet and the bathroom. The hairdryer was missing. There were missing light bulbs. The tub was surrounded with mildew. Mostly, it was difficult to breathe. I’ve slept in barnyards and found breathing easier than in this room. I booked 2 nights. Checked in late the first night, so I stayed because I had no choice and was desperate to sleep. The next morning I checked out because I’d rather sleep on my mother’s sofa than deal with that again. I was told I could not get a refund because I booked a non-refundable rate. I understood, but, like any normal person, would have thought if the room was unusable there would be an exception. I was happy to pay for the night I slept there, but wanted to get my money back for the second night. I emailed the manager. I contacted Wyndham resorts. I got a response saying the room was non-refundable. period. I went looking through my receipt and the website and all the small print for rate terms and found none - so they have nothing to argue. But common business practices dictate that if a product is unusable (or if you want any repeat customers) it should be refunded.
