Portes Lithos

Portes Lithos is a wonderful hotel. there are so many positives to talk about. the decor is very classy, the rooms are modern, excellent shower, brilliant air conditioning, comfy bed. The pool area, the beach, the restaurants, the bar area are all very lovely and clean. the communal toilets are amazingly clean. The massage at the spa was very good as well. we had a swim up room which was really well thought out. the beach had plenty of space and lots of fresh pool towels. the food was excellent. a variety, very clean and tasty. honestly, every dish we tried was lovely. the a la carte is only available once on your visit at lunch time but it was pleasant to be there by the beach the service from Mary and Maria and Chris was very good- attentive! the best two the rest are too focused on clearing and not taking drinks orders or noticing glasses are empty and customers might want another drink. this is all meals. i like the fact your drinks get served to you at the table. brilliant! the rooftop bar was nice and chilled. some minor points - there seemed to be a lot of smokers at this hotel, so not good to sit outside in the morning due to the smell of cigarettes wafting in your face. this forced us to sit inside a lot during our stay. the hotel is very classy and very relaxing but it’s a very quiet hotel. there isn’t any atmosphere in the evenings with only a little bit of entertainment but as we were here to re charge our batteries it didn’t bother us too much. same with location , not much about but we knew that before we arrived so it was okay with us. in fact we liked the tranquility of the place. rooms were cleaned well but they don’t change the bedding and just a wipe around . the rooms are very dark so challenging for doing make up and hair and they provide an uncomfortable stool instead of a nice chair. also bigger towels and some hooks would be nice please i would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely visit again. overall this is a fantastic hotel (not quite a five star hotel but could be with a few tweaks around attention to detail) what a fabulous chilled holiday

We have visited the spa and it was so nice! The employees were very kind and friendly. The treatments were also very relaxing. The hotel room was very luxury and clean. The cleaners cleaned the room every day very good and nice. Also the whole resort is very clean.

This modern beach front hotel will suit anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing time. Rooms are pleasant, food is good, pool area is very nice and the staff are excellant. It is however a bit off the beaten track with no real activity or life within walking distance. The hotels evening entertainment is basic and most people make their way off to bed by 11.00pm. Fortunately, we just wanted to chill for the week, so it suited us just fine. The hotel runs a shuttle into local town's but even they are on the sleepy side. A week was about right any longer and boredom would have set in.

I was travelling with my Mum so we had a twin room. The room was absolutely spotless and really nice. The bathroom was very open which we didn’t love. The shower was nice and hot. I did find it difficult to put on my makeup as the lighting was bad all over the room but this is very common in hotels. We were also surprised that there was only one English tv channel, others would have been nice especially on the rainy days we had. We found the beds comfortable and the pillows were pretty good. There was also an extra duvet which I used as it did get quite chilly. The room also had aircon/heating. Coffee maker and a kettle, stocked mini bar and snacks which were a nice bonus. The WiFi around the hotel and in the rooms was pretty good. Obviously not perfect but good enough in my opinion. The pool and beach were lovely. The pool isn’t heated so when we visited it was quite chilly but after a few minutes you acclimatise. We didn’t have an issue finding sun beds and they were the most comfortable sun beds I’ve ever sat on! We made the most of it and went in the sea and pool everyday. The sea is stunning, perfectly clear and you can walk both ways for a nice walk which we did most days. The drinks were quite strong so didn’t have too many. My preference is more of the fruity cocktails where you can’t taste the acohol so I mainly stuck to soft drinks. They seemed to have a good selection of spirits available for us under ultra all inclusive. Guys that work in the pool bar are so polite and always offered to bring the drinks over to us. We were all inclusive so had all meals in the main restaurant. They had a great selection of salads and cheeses, a soup, and various hot foods. We didn’t struggle to find something we liked each meal. However I think if we have been any longer than a week we would have got bored. All the waiters we had were lovely and so friendly! We visited the other restaurant for our last lunch. I had the tomato soup, followed by spaghetti with clams, and then a white chocolate pistachio dessert. I thought the food here was excellent and would definitely recommend visiting. We visited the spa. I had a back, neck and shoulder massage which was really great. I wish they would have put a clear price list out so you could look at this rather than having the ask, they were running promotions where you get additional time and money off. The spa ladies were all very friendly and polite but I think they would benefit from the pricing being a bit more transparent. I would 100% recommend having a massage, the pressure was really good and the oil smelled lovely. We also used the sauna on two occasions and this was really nice. They have a great set up with separate showers and changing rooms. Wish they had a little pool or even just a jacuzzi inside the spa especially as none of the rooms have baths. OK so I'm giving it 4 stars, we enjoyed our stay and i will list positives and negatives. Positives Food good, nice variety ambient evening dinners Swim up pool room was great Pool areas great Look and feel is modern contemporary and easy on the eye Right on the beach Great water sports situated within hotel grounds Maria, vladka, and Stella were AMAZING as we're the majority of staff. Overall, vibe, chilled, relaxed with beautiful sunset views from the roof area, pool abd beach areas. Negatives, It's not anywhere near any shops, restaurants etc, It's situated on a dusty, overgrown service road, that doesn't make for a gentle evening stroll its dusty dirty, runs alongside a motorway , so once your there your in the resort. Plan your excursions and use the hotels Free shuttle to nearby towns The bus KTEL stops at the top by the service road, but is widely known to be sometime ish, as we found out, but cheap to get back from Afytos, but best get taxi there. My husband stepped on a spiky fish on the hotel beach, rendered him out of use, lifeguard was young sympathetic but didn't know what to do, beauty therapist came woth tweezers there were too many too deeply in bedded. Hotel doctor didbt do anything other than get some antibiotics cream. Spines were too vast and deep. It ruined our holiday and apparently all the staff were then saying "yes we get those happening every week". But the hotel has no signs, rep didn't say be careful these poisonous fish are close to shore and are frequent on this coast. Ok so we shouldn't need telling to wear beav shoes, but how many of us do?. If I were advised that its better because of natural habitation that is local we would of not used the beach until we bought beach shoes. So caution is neded. Even then the rep got us special assistance for the but no word of notice they'll tell other holiday makers. The guy who was restocking our mini bar pretty much didnt all week, we were getting cans and bottles from the bars and sticking it ourselves. The rooms are nice and a good size but the cleaning is a flash wipe around, so other people's hair etc come off the mop. I'm as blonde as can be and the room would be full of swept up dark hair on the corners Larger set youngish waiter whips your playes away literally as your eating, and despite my husband not being able to walk without pain, just told us to go get spoons ourselves when we see there were no spoons on our table as the placing was incomplete and we had desert in front of us. He wasn't friendly, a shame as the others were amazing

Hotel is stunning, we loved the beach front rooms and the food was exceptional. I would recommend All Inclusive as there is nowhere local to walk to, the choices available are extensive and branded drinks, staff go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. Our only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is the entertainment experience, the music in the restaurant was almost spa like and this was repeated throughout the hotel. I understand the need to advertise as a relaxing retreat but it was too slow paced at times. The animation team is one lady, who works hard and was very polite, but just needed a little more ‘energy’, The evening entertainment is very minimal and the lobby bar appeared to be empty by 10.30pm most nights we were there. The pool was beautiful and landscaped, with a choice of sunbeds, as it is beach front there were plenty of options between the beach and pool. Water still a little cold in mid May, but it was our choice to travel at this time.

We had a fantastic time on holiday here as a family of 10. The quality of the food was amazing. We had some special dietary requirements and the chef (Stathis) was incredibly accommodating - he ensured we had a selection of dishes to choose from that were different every night. Giannis was lovely and again really accommodating. Nothing was too much and there was a solution to everything. Panagiotis even gave us his personal HDMI cable to use. We were also upgraded from a sea view room to a loft. The room (house!!) was spacious, clean and comfortable. It had a roof terrace with great views. Glota at guest relations helped us arrange a car seamlessly and was lovely throughout. Overall, a great stay.

Hospitality was excellent, all staff treaded us as a family. I am a diabetic but chef was making food specifically for me as well as deserts. Receptionist and other staff was very friendly and talkative. Evening music and bingo game was interesting.

My special thanks to all the staff within "Portes Lithos Luxury Resort" for making this a very memorable holiday. From my granddaughter aged 3 to the eldest member aged 67, hotel staff and senior managers understood our needs and made special arrangements to fulfil all our requests. Whole family's needs were catered for to a high standard. Thanks from Patel Family
