Fergus Cactus Garden

This is our second time here and the food is horrendous. The hotel is very poorly run and I would never come back. The entertainer was sacked I know why but i cannot say! All I will say he did something very wrong! I will never return and if I had daughters they would never come here!

Great service the resort is fabulous. Rami is great really helpful and kind happy to do anything to help you. Will definitely come back weather is stunning. Love being here it’s our second time no regrets, and the beach is beautiful. Thank you Tami

Got a free upgrade when arrived there about 11pm from no balcony room to one with balcony, sea view & living room. Usually €70 per night to upgrade. Very clean hotel & nice staff. Very quiet resort not much to see & do except beach. Quite hilly as well. Entertainment was lacking - couple nights a pub singer or karaoke or bingo - not great. Didn't see much activity going on in the day either. Some nights were chilly due to wind because bar outside - need a jacket. Food was very poor & bland. Sometimes you couldn't tell what the dish was. Meat all tough as old boots so mainly ate salad stuff. Breakfast was about the best meal & that was just ok. Probably one of the worst all inclusives we have been to foodwise. Wouldn't return here as too quiet an area for us, nothing to do plus the food issue. Also takes a couple hours to get to/from airport on the coach.

This is just my findings and thoughts of this hotel. We were really looking forward to our stay at Fergus Cactus Garden, read lots of reviews but mistakenly chose to ignore the negative ones. The hotel is pretty basic, advertised daily activities most times did not happen and the evening entertainment was awful, you've more chance finding a street busker with more talent. Our room was above the entertainment and extremely noisy, were offered another room at 30euro per person per day, would have been 840euroes, so we stayed and just put up with the noise. However the worst thing for us was the food I became extremely unwell after just three days, had to buy anti diarrhoea tablets from the chemist, conveniently next door. The management suggested my illness was caused outside the hotel, but at the point of becoming unwell I had neither eaten of drunk anything other than hotel food and drink. We actually found mould growth in some deserts, (see photos) so if they are happy to put out this food for consumption what are they doing behind the scenes? Their motto is "We Love Having You Back" one thing for sure I would NEVER go there again. Good luck if you choose this hotel for your holiday but my advise would be don't.

Nicely situated in a quiet resort with a lovely beach. Everywhere is very clean and the rooms are cleaned to a high standard -although tea and coffee were not replaced. Rooms are big with lovely balconies and it was very peaceful. The food was ok but not great for those with allergies. This limited my choice considerably. I could not have pizza, pasta, many desserts etc. I didn’t starve but choice would’ve been nice.

We've just go back from our week stay here and loved it 😊 Check in was very easy and quick and the room is very spacious and we had a balcony so nice views, beds are comfy personally would have preferred 2 pillows but still slept well every night. Room has mini fridge so can keep water in there (they provide 1 bottle when you arrive) and Aircon and a decent size bathroom with nice shower and bottles of shampoo, conditioner, soap and body lotion all with aloe Vera in so soothing if you have burnt which I thought was a good extra touch. All staff in this hotel are amazing, not been to hotel before where they remember you and they want you to have the best holiday. Few members suggested places on the island for us to visit which we did and they were stunning. They weren't just there serving drinks like in most hotels they were willing to chat to you and make sure you're enjoying your holiday. Entertainment (Rami) was very good always getting everyone involved and I particularly liked how the entertainment was all through out the day not just the evening and when it was too windy for one of the activities he got a different game out instead which was nice better than just sitting by the pool. Evening entertainment was good variety and always enjoyable could do with more chairs as sometimes struggled to find a seat. Pool was lovely and decent size however sometimes struggled to find sunbeds or had one behind the shower wall so not a great view 😂 Food was your average all inclusive nothing special. We both lived off salads for the week. They do have pizza but if you're not there when dinning opens then you might not get any as I don't think they replenished the pizza. On the first night everything was cold so kind of put us off eating it. There are loads of restaurants around that do good cheap food which we didn't mind visiting occasionally. Overall I very good experience and would definitely consider coming back ☺️ Tip for people who haven't been Fuerteventura before the evenings are quiet windy so bring layers which we weren't prepared for 😂

Just got back from a week staying at the Cactus Garden and all in all we were happy with our stay. Arrived late but check in was quick and easy. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Air con was good, as was the shower. Must give a mention to ALL THE STAFF here, every single one we had an interaction with were super polite and professional, from the lady who cleaned our room, the reception staff, restaurant and bar staff, Rami the entertainment guy, nice genuine people. Seen a couple of reviews slating the food but can you imagine trying to please everyone at breakfast, lunch and dinner? It’s not possible! We didn’t use the restaurant every day but when we did we always found something we enjoyed. If it’s not what you’re into there’s lots of restaurants within a five/ten minute walk, have a wander and go contribute to the local economy! Pool area was a bit small and did occasionally see people not able to get a sunbed, we just alternated between a day by the pool and then a day by the absolutely beautiful beach at Morro Jable, definitely worth exploring the restaurants and bars in that area. There was some construction work going on just outside the hotel but that wasn’t really the hotels fault and was beyond their control. Good hotel, great location and excellent,hard working staff. Would definitely recommend

We needed a weekoff work due to losing so much sleep due to constant drilling for 8.30am to 4.30pm we had no ear defender's but the workers did exiting the hotel instead of a breath of fresh air air we got a breath of fresh dust the restaurant food was appalling with very little or no change on sweets no knowlodge of food presentation the entertainment area was so small guest could not sit down due to lack of variety with only a singing artist and entertainment held in substance cramp area I would rate this very poorly I don't know where you get the 4 stars from perhaps your looking in the sky I feel I should be compensated for the poor experience

Here now and just to echo what someone else has said. Just been for evening meal and we got up for water from the Machine as no Tea or coffee available. On leaving a waiter told us we have to pay for water?? What the heck!! Water is a necessity in life. On half board having to pay for a glass of water is ridiculous. Have travelled the world and have never had to pay for water at mealtimes...fact.
