We arrived as exhausted travelers from California to a gloomy room with no T.V. reception (two remotes, no signal, and no instructions), and an outdated internet password on their welcome message. Some welcome. We knew in advance the office was closed from 7 P.M. to 9:00 a.m. with no one to assist us, but the absolute least management can do with no one minding the store is provide instructions for operating the remotes, and a current password. After a long day, and without access to MapQuest for our next journey, we just went to bed. Keep in mind, we are out in the middle of nowhere.
When my husband went to the office the next day to say we were checking out, the employee gave him the latest password, but too late, we were on our way.
On a positive note, the bathroom was clean with plenty of toiletries, and an above average shower. The location through the Petit Jean State Park is breathtakingly beautiful, and we will always have that to remember, the rest of the journey to our next destination, the lodge at Mt. Magazine State Park.
