We made a last minute decision to ski at Sugarbush and after some searching selected the Mad River Inn for two couples. We selected an option for two rooms. When we arrived Susannah offered an alternative arrangement with two separated rooms each with access to a bathroom at the same rate we booked. This was very thoughtful and appreciated. She recommended options for dinner and showed us around the beautiful and historic Inn giving some history and interesting background. We enjoyed a game of billiards in the game room. In the morning she prepared omelets for breakfast. There was also an impressive selection of teas and coffee. There were many nice touches; comfortable beds, rooms each decorated with beautiful antiques, home baked snacks, cold picture of fruited water and more. We highly recommend this stop, and will come back with a larger group in the future.

This was exactly what we wanted from a Vermont B&B. A fantastic location, glorious view every morning with an excellent warm breakfast, and a wonderful family of innkeepers who run the operation. If you're looking for a cozy, classic Vermont B&B experience, this is the place! As an added bonus, they were wonderful in accommodating us while we traveled with a young child. Many B&B's don't allow kids, so we were very appreciative of The Mad River Inn working with us to make arrangements for our family holiday!

We had a great weekend with friends and I would definitely go back. The owners are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is delicious! They have all the small details covered and I love the homemade cookies. The beds and pillows are so comfortable too! We felt very at home at the Inn and especially enjoyed the bonfire late night. The town is also a lovely place and we enjoyed visiting the shops and restaurants.

I was there for a family wedding. The Naylors were so welcoming and treated us as though we were special friends and did everything to make sure all our needs were met. The beds were so very comfortable and the living room was wonderful place to gather, and we often did. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. During our stay we all felt as though we were visiting in the home of a friend. Everyone agreed we would come back again!

Just finished a lovely 3-night stay at Mad River Inn. No down side to be found. Amazing locally sourced gourmet breakfast! Sweet rooms, comfy beds and bedding, super clean, friendly owners, great location. Game room, beautiful views, everything great!

Run by a friendly couple who also happen to be excellent cooks! Rooms are comfortable. Atmosphere is very home-like. Great location on a quiet side road but not far from town and only a few miles from Sugarbush, Sugarbush Nort, and Mad River. For fly fishermen, I noticed that access points to the Mad River are within easy walking distance of the inn.

Had a quick but lovely stay at the Mad River Inn! Lucky for us there was "room at the Inn" during a recent snowstorm. How lucky were we!! ? Cozy room with a super comfortable bed, freshly baked oatmeal cookies, hot shower and luxurious towels were just a few of the details that made our brief stay so enjoyable. Our "made to order" breakfast (Blueberry Buttermilk pancakes, bacon and fresh fruit) was absolutely delicious! We are so pleased to we happened upon this gem!

We could not have had a better stay at any other inn than we had at Mad River Inn. I'm not typically a fan of B&Bs and especially not of communal breakfasts, but this inn felt very comfortable. Our stay overlapped with pleasant guests we enjoyed meeting during both of our breakfasts. The house is just what you would hope for an old Vermont Inn. Amenities are modern while the style is antique without feeling worn out. We felt very comfortable and right at home. Brandon and Susannah are extremely accommodating hosts who are friendly and personable. The food is delicious. Bed is comfortable. Location is within an easy drive of Mad River, Sugarbush, Stowe, Waterbury, etc. My favorite amenity is the tea smorgasbord! It was great to have hot water and tea options any time of day. If the opportunity arises again, we will be back.

We spent 2 nights at this comfortable inn. Susannah and Brandon are wonderful host’s who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They have thought of everything to make your stay special- yummy breakfast’s made to order, if your a tea lover you will be in heaven never have seen such a selection, coffee available at 7am, baked treats and always fresh water when you come back at the end of the day, more free goodies and soft drinks in the game room with large TV and pool table, very comfortable bed and extremely clean rooms, lovely living room with a fireplace and check out the beautiful etched windows from 1910, any channel you would want on TV’s in the rooms and especially loved talking to them both and petting Otto. What more do you need! It’s only 15 minutes or less to the ski mountains and restaurants. We highly recommend this inn.
