We arrived at 01:30hrs having travelled on a ferry from Ireland, so were very tired and understanding of other guests who may have been sleeping. When we entered room 113, the smell of damp hit us immediately, not wanting to make as fuss and very tired. We thought it may have been that the heating had not been on, so we tried to go to sleep. Sadly, after an interrupted nights sleep from the smell, we both woke with a headache, and the smell was even more pungent. We looked around the room and noticed spores between the exterior wall and ceiling, as though it had been cleaned in the past. The bathroom extractor also seemed not to be working (unless it was silent), which would explain the conditions you expected us to endure. We checked out and complained about our stay to Kerry the Supervisor, who said she would issue a refund voucher. I don't expect to have to review accommodation under these circumstances as we both feel unwell a day after our stay at Travelodge. Clearly room 113 didn't suddenly become damp, and as it has been cleaned before, someone should have noticed the odour and faulty fan. Disgusting stay.
