ผผู้เข้าพักI’ll start by saying that I’ve stayed in a lot of Novotels, so know what to expect, basic but functional. It works, it’s cheap but it’s clean and safe, normally! There is parking, underground, which is safe but there are some strange market stall vehicles parked down there. From the end of September the pool is closed and, wait for it, they also turn off the A/C. We stayed in October and it was so hot in the room, it was in unbearable. I don’t understand why they would just use the temperature, rather than a date, to determine if the A/C is operating or not. So we slept with the window wide open, four people sleeping in a small and very noisy (from the trams, traffic and people) room. We had a family room, which was classic Novotel, but really really tired. There was a bidet, for what I have no idea (aside of the obvious, that no one uses) and a toilet, in the shower room. Normally, they have a separate toilet and shower room, making it far easier for a family of four to practically use the room, not here. The bathroom needs to be ripped out and refitted, do the room at the same time, and please fit more electrical sockets, two is not enough. We were 4 in the room but had to request two extra towels, they only put 2 in the room, surely this is simple stuff. The shower is powerful, too much water for the plug to cope with, causing water to flood onto the floor. The whole reception area has had some investment but the other spaces are desperately in need of a make-over, doors and floors are tired. Simple things, none of the toilet seats were securely fixed, in the men’s at least, and everything just felt like it would benefit from a splash of bleach. The location is great for Milan, the metro is a 5 minute walk and gets you into the city in less than 20 minutes.
