Kimpton Virgilio is a gem in the posh Polanco district. We stayed 7. nights and absolutely loved this hotel. The entire staff makes you feel like family and they truly go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms are immaculately clean and the bed was so comfortable. There is a fun rooftop bar where you can have dinner as well. I loved the location as there so many great restaurants and coffee shops to walk to, not to mention the enchantingly beautiful Parque Lincoln just a short walk from the hotel. We used the bicycles to ride to Museo Soumaya and back which was so fun. I have to give a shout out to Angel, the concierge who reallly made us feel special and provided fantastic recommendations as well as fascinating history of the area and Mexico City as a whole. He was a delightful person to encounter dailey. Also, Rodrigo and the rest of the front desk staff were always very helpful and friendly, as was all of the restaurant and bar staff at Pepe. We plan to visit Mexico City again and the Vigilio will forever be our favorite hotel in Mexico City.

For almost two years I have been staying at this hotel. Centrally it is in a good place. It's within walking distance to a greak bakery across the street, a coffee shop half a block, an Oxxo one block and some good restaurants all within walking distance. The bellmen are great and pretty friendly with one remembering me because I leave a coffee maker for my personal use. Front desk pwople are usually pretty friendly and professional. The outside of the property and parking area are well kept and clean. There is free parking on site for guests. The rooms are very clean an well stocked with free water daily, good towels and clean bedding. I've found housekeeping very friendly. Theres one housekeeper, an older lady whos very sweet about stocking the room and any extras needed. I'll be sure to get her name when Im back in Sept. There are a few misses though. And this isnt meant to slam the hotel just some ideas to make it even better. The mattresses can be harder than most I've slept on traveling. I think this is a México thing as Ive stayed at other properties around the country and theyve all had hard mattresses. It would be nice if there was a loyalty program to encourage repeat stays. There's no coffee pot/maker. Like I said before I bought a coffee maker and leave it for my use when I stay. Providing even a one cup maker would be great. One last thing to make the room great, an iron and iron board. A lot of my shirts need to be ironed. I could buy the stuff and leave it but that might be a bit much. So now I bring a small steamer with me and it works well. Despite the small things listed, as long as staff are friendly and rooms and property are well equipped and clean I will continue to stay here.

Stayed 7 nights with my partner at this wonderful hotel, which is centrally located (10 minute walk to the main Zocalo square with lots of shopping nearby) and has a very good bar/restaurant on-site. The rooms are new with firm beds, thick towels and linens, a hot shower, daily maid service, a medium-sized safe that can hold a tablet, good climate control, and a Nespresso coffee machine. A filtered water dispenser to refill water bottles is quite the advantage in the lobby. The gym on the 2nd floor is modern with very usable equipment, and is located next to an outdoor terrace. The breakfast buffet was very good with several choices. Antonio and Nayla provided excellent customer service during breakfast, and Antonio also alerted me to breakfast options that were healthier for my sensitive stomach. The lobby staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, I rate this hotel an 8 or 9 out of 10 and would definitely stay here again. That being said, I would like to offer some suggestions to Novotel to make the hotel room a bit better for travelers. This new, minimal hotel room concept means that there are no dresser drawers for storing clothing, and there’s only one spot in the hanging metal “closet” for storing one suitcase - the other person must put their suitcase on the floor . One must live out of their suitcase during the entire stay, which is very annoying. This can easily be remedied by having more hangers (10 instead of 5?) in the closet, and having one or two folding luggage racks available. Also, another side table is needed beside the bed, since there’s only one. The person sleeping on the left side of the bed must put their water, glasses, phone, etc. on the floor, since there’s no side table, or place their items far away on the desk. Also, the thick towels keep falling off the three very lame wooden towel “knobs”. These knobs need to be replaced or extended outward in order to be able to hold a load. I would hang up my wet towel and it would immediately fall onto the floor. We fought with this the entire week. The hotel would save a lot of money by not having to wash towels every day that have fallen onto the floor. Additionally, perhaps for an upcharge, a small refrigerator could be placed in the room. These minor issues did not affect our overall satisfaction of this hotel.

ผผู้เข้าพักThe location is awesome. The hotel is more than basic, the pictures are a bit deceiving. There wasn't even space for us to put our clothes, no wardrobe nothing. Four days and our clothes had to stay in our bags or around the room.
It also didn't have a good mirror, only one in the bathroom which is not convenient.
The hotel is on a 4th or 3rd floor, I honestly can't remember but it was a lot of stairs, and it's inside a building that resembled a small shopping center.
It's walking distance to a lot of attractions, very good location.
The breakfast was good, freshly prepared for each individual. There's a very nice rooftop, don't miss it.
The hotel is not quiet at all, but I guess it's because of the location, it's hard to get a good night sleep if you're easily awakened :)
Upon arrival the man on the checking desk asked me to fill yet another form that had weird questions like if I liked dogs or cats and he said that I had to take a selfie! He said this was for verification reasons and that ”booking” asks him to do so, I told him I already verified my reservation and that I booked via Trip.com, he insisted at first and then when I was firm he said that it's ok and that there was no need.
ผผู้เข้าพักThe hotel is in a very nice location, a couple of blocks from Avenida Paseo de la Reforma. The room was very clean and there was a walk-in shower in the bathroom. A nice ce upgrade would be to have USB ports by the nightstand.
My issue is with Trip.com. I paid in advance for 3 rooms- one for me and one each for two friends. When I booked the rooms, I listed each of us separately on the online form. I received my confirmation by email and assumed that so did my friends. When we arrived at the hotel, I checked in without issue but when my friends tried to, they were told that no reservation existed for them. This is despite the fact that I had paid by credit card for all three rooms on one transaction. A call to Trips.com did nothing to fix the situation. The reservation number I gave them only had my room listed.
My only option now is to dispute the charge once my credit card statement arrives.
TThomasBGThis is my second 1-night stay in this hotel in the last 7 days - both in order to get some sleep after long-haul flights before continuing for the next one. For this purpose the hotel is OK. Simple but clean and having everything one needs for 7-8 hours, including a very convenient check-out time of 1pm, which, to be honest, is something unique, especially in the last years when they are trying to move the check-out time first to 11, then to 10, and I’ve seen even 9am somewhere! So far, so good. The little problem I bumped into at check-out, was that this hotel is also unique with the fact that it doesn’t have either a luggage storage facility, not an organization to store guests’ luggage when they fly out later in the day. After I tried to insist (because I’m 100% sure even 2-star hotels have such places, and this is even rated as 4* in some places), they offered me to leave my bags near the reception, in a dark and completely unsecured place behind some counter. A place everybody could walk in and nobody will see. Go and prove you had a bag with things important to you, if on return you don’t find you stuff there. And having in mind this it not the best part of the city, I couldn’t take the risk, so I had to waste time to go to a special paid luggage storage company. I actually even offered Hotel Seoul money to put my bag in a safe location, but they refused. So the third time, if I have to fly late in the day, I’ll surely look for a hotel with a better service in this aspect, Which is a pity, because this one offers everything one needs for some rest during a long layover. For longer stays I wouldn’t recommend staying there, because the rooms are a bit dark and even a bit cold at night. But for a single night stay it’s great. Including the very good WiFi.
