Would place this between 4 and 5 stars. Room was spacious but a bit dark as others have noted. There is no AC which is fairly normal in the area, a fan helped, but on a particularly hot night can be a bit uncomfortable. Breakfast was exceptional with lots of variety, excellent bread. Dinner was good with the highlight being the dessert and cheese buffet afterwards, both had lots of choices and were exceptional. Would stay again if in the area.

Nice spacious room but very dark. We've to try to switch on every possible lights. No air con, so get ready to be baked at night. I particularly love the area where your clothes hang (lots of hangers) and space. Bathroom is spacious and easy to operate. Fitness room only starts at 7am. But you can ask the nice front desk man at 6am to open for you. Don't bother negotiating with the front desk ladies, they won't help no matter how much charm you try. Couldn't use their steam room, swimming pool as it was SO PACKED at 5pm. Best to come at off-peak season and not in Summer (SO HOT). Breakfast is nice, so is dinner. But service very slow at dinner as they couldn't cope with the crowd. Good location to centre city.

We came to Megeve for a friend’s wedding and decided to stay for a week and go walking. We’d never been walking in the mountains or come to the Alps in the summer and didn’t know what to expect. Ferme de Marie is a phenomenal hotel! We were so impressed with the service here. Breakfast was top notch, best scrambled egg. The hotel is a little haven nestled in Megeve. The spa is amazing. We had a couples massage and it was the best we’ve ever had. The hotel had many guests but it strangely never feels crowded. Ben and Mael were the concierges who planned the most wonderful walking routes at a moments notice. They had an encyclopaedic knowledge of mountains. We went on 6 amazing hikes, all unique, where we felt we were the only people on the mountain. The hotel has a free shuttle service to run you to the cable cars and starting points for the walks. The hotel also has a secret chalet up in the mountains. On Wednesdays they have a lunch. We went. Best value lunch in Megeve! Really excellent food in a breathtaking location. Antonia on reception was excellent and made everything seamless. We were really impressed. We will definitely be coming back.

Do not go there if you are vegetarian!!! My husband had a tasteless and starchy squash soup for starter ( over 20 euros!!) and a polenta soufflé as a main with no sides at all ( not even a leaf of green salad- the green salad as a side was 28 euros(?) or so..) appalling unbalanced dish , unsatisfying and 34 euros for a plate of polenta.. 5 star hotel but no star for the food-sadly as my meal was ok - only deserts were good actually.

Very bad service. Very rude with people. Don’t worth their 5 stars. It’s almost self service. And when it’s not you should be very patient to have someone talking to you. The rooms are awful. You have a wc without sink in it. And the price is 1.6k euros per night. You almost have to beg to have someone talked to you. And of course if you forgot once to say bonjour you are black listed for your whole stay. The only positive point is the concierge Ben.

Our second trip to Fermes de Marie after a 3 year Covid-driven absence. Still very well maintained and great amenities in hotel (spa, hot tub etc) and whilst not well located for pedestrian access to the slopes the hotel does offer a free shuttle bus service to/from the lifts (though at busy times the wait time can be a touch irritating and the shuttle staff we encountered were less than polite). The in-hotel ski hire shop is super useful & the staff in there are great - friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. The fresh foods in the restaurant are great, especially the breakfast but the lunch/evening menu is trying too hard to be super gastronomic and over complicates the dishes in our opinion. The menu doesn’t change daily either so if you eat regularly in the hotel your choices are a touch limited, albeit admittedly well presented/cooked. We’d probably go back but our sense was that service quality had slipped from our last visit.

We were excited to visit Megeve for the first time and the hotel had been recommended to us. We loved the restaurant, amazing food and very friendly service. The service on reception was also very friendly and helpful. But the bedrooms were not what we would expect for an expensive five star hotel. The room we stayed in was badly furnished and had nothing luxurious about it. But the worst thing was the lighting the bedroom was so dark we could not see what was in the wardrobe. The bathroom was worse the lighting was so bad it was a struggle to put my makeup on. When the outside of the chalets is so beautiful it’s a real pity that the inside of the rooms looks more like an upmarket badly lit two star hotel than a five star hotel. The hotel has so much going for it but if the bedrooms were improved it would have a whole lot more.

Terrible experience! The hotel is run by a completely unprofessional manager, with impolite manners who cursed at a lady when she tried to change a reservation to a mountain restaurant not accessible by people that do not ski, simply because one of the children in our group had an accident that would not allow him and his mother to join us for lunch. Perhaps he had his own priorities!!! The manager did not have the curtesy that a Professional in his position should demonstrate to call and apologize. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Worst experience for a hotel that claims Roy be a 5-star one! On the first dinner the waiter broke a couple of glasses and they just picked up the larger broken pieces, leaving the rest of the glasses on the floor with kids stepping on them. Only after our group insisted they bothered to clean the floor. The entrecôte not edible.!!! On top of all the manager showed the worst manners, when due to an injury of one kid of our party, he was asked to change a lunch reservation to a restaurant that the kid and his mother could walk to join the rest. Instead of assisting, he started yelling and cursing in French to his client because he didn’t want to change the reservation. He is anything but a manager!!! He never responded or showed up to justify his terrible behavior, hiding behind his colleagues!!!
