CCathyLenWe were a self-guided group of five and based here for two nights to tour Great Zimbabwe, visit surrounding villages and see Lake Kyle. The stay was excellent -- staff were helpful and friendly. The architecture alone makes it worth a visit. Rooms were very clean and very spacious, and the food and drink were good and reasonably priced. Like much of Zimbabwe these days (early 2020), there is only electricity in the grid in the evenings, so the hotel is on generator power at other times. There are some points during the day when there is no power in the rooms, but we were out at those times so didn't really notice. Two Zimbabwe residents in our party had been to the Lodge before and said that it has definitely upped its game in the restaurant since their last visit a year or so ago.
