Beautiful hotel! Would be nice to have free access to the private beach. The rest is good.

Fabulous stay at acacia palace,10days of peace and tranquility!!. Spotlessly clean,staff were friendly and accomadating. Stayed bed and breakfast which was a buffet style with plenty of fresh ingredients with scillian delicacies on offer. Will definitely be back next year,feel revived!

Transfer although booked shared coach with TUI was just us so effectively private on a mini bus, still took over 90 mins, would naturally be longer on a bus either multiple drop offs. Acacia Palace and Acacia Marina same reception not sure you can say they are different hotels, just parts of the same one. Wi-Fi free and a good signal. Safe- man has to come and enable it. About €2 a day payable on checkout. Air con quiet and effective. Plugs! Our normal European ones didn’t fit. Hotel very kindly provided an adapter to fit between the socket and our adapter. Drinks in Hotel - This is their Achilles heel. Really expensive. Once or twice a day the staff will ask if you want a drink. Did it once 3/4 pint of beer €7 and an iced coffee came with a €2 additional service charge. For balance supermarket “MD” 5 min walk very cheap, can of beer €.79, bottle of wine (no idea of what it is like) €1.40 There is also a fridge in the room…. Sunbeds - no issues at any time of the day. They also have an adjustable canopy, which was lovely in the heat and something we’ve not seen before. Private beach area costs about €20 for two beds and a brolley. Payable on checkout. There is a toilet for users of the private hotel area. English - all English speakers in hotel front of house staff, go into the resort, maybe not the case. Excursions - Fantastic! We went on the Noto / Marzameni / Portopalo trip, wanting to see more of the island. Booked via the hotel, with only hotel guests on our trip, we went first to Noto, met by a guide with approx 45 minute tour of the city, with another 30 plus minutes on your own. Quick stop at Marzameni, 20 mins, not sure why this is on the itinerary and then an even shorter stop at the the very southernmost part of the island the very pretty Portopalo. Half day trip start at 0800 and dropped back the the hotel by 1400, we thought the €65 was worth it. Night trip to Scicli beautiful town about 25 minutes away. Bus to Ragusa Hotel will tell you were the stop is, just 200m off the main square. Worth a visit but be warned lots of steps! 5€ return per adult for the 30 min trip. Outside the hotel Restaurants- good menus scan using QR code, and pay inside they don’t come to you, found this out on night two thinking don’t they want our money! Scooters I’ve not been on a scooter in 50 years, but gave it a bash here. Use the Elerent app and then hop on to take you into the centre or beyond. Great fun! In summary my wife wanted an authentic Italian experience. This ticks all the boxes. Want a hotel and resort not full of Brits wanting the UK experience then this is perfect. Highly recommend. Tip learn some Italian and familiarise yourself with Google Translate.

We arrived late in the evening not feeling chirpy due to a delayed flight and aggravation at Catania airport car hire. We were welcomed by a cheerful lady who explained all the details of the hotel and gave us a map of the area. The breakfast is a buffet with plenty of choice, there's seating areas outside as well as tables within. There's an excellent use of mirrors giving a feeling of space to the room and hallways. Our room was well equipped with everything that we needed, the bed was a good size and comfortable. We had a large bathroom with shower, bidet etc the washbasin was big with a large mirror above. We had plenty of storage space with large sliding door wardrobes and ample cupboards. We had a balcony complete with a table and chairs, plus a great view towards the sea. There's a family swimming pool as well as one for adults only both with ample sunbeds and sunshades. The bar has a good selection of beverages, the staff are very friendly and efficient, they also circulate around the pool taking orders for drinks during the afternoon. There's secure parking with an electric coded gate, all in all we had a very comfortable two week stay here.

Amazing stay at the acacia palace, just across the road from a superb sandy beach and within a short 5-10 min stroll to the square and marina. Rooms are vert smart with comfy beds and immaculately clean. Use of the facilities with adjoining sister hotel both with great pool areas. For the evening meal in the restaurant you are given a 4 course menu every morning to select your dishes for the evening which included appetizer, main 1, main 2 and desert and all cooked fresh to order, no food sat on buffet hot plates, the food was amazing and plentiful for sure. The staff were very friendly and deserve a mention. A supermarket just 100m up from hotel on same road. Overall a superb holiday in a beautiful location. Highly recommended hotel.

Stayed here for 10 nights. It’s a nice hotel, nice grounds and 2 good size pools with plenty of sunbeds and overall clean. It is about 5 min (less) walk to the beach where you have a private area for a fee, purchased through the hotel reception. It is also about 10 min walk to the main square where there are plenty of restaurants and cafes, a further 10 min walk from the main square gets you to the marina which has a few more restaurants and bars. The cocktails at the hotel bar are reasonably priced it was €8 for an Aperol Spritz. It’s definitely worth getting a bus to Ragusa Iblea, the old town. Ask reception and they will print off a timetable and tell you where to get the bus, it’s two minutes from the main square. Top tip you will be told to get the bus from the bus station. It’s not a station as the UK know it, it’s a bus stop on the left hand side as you walk from the main square. Also worth hiring a car through the hotel, the company used have reasonable rates and it’s very easy to organise. We did that for one day and took a trip to Syracusa. To be aware of the additional fees by the hotel, which to be fair are stated on the website ( I think some on the FAQs and other on services page), but if you’re like me you don’t read every page of the hotel website if you’ve booked through a agency..so thought would be useful to mention here… €20 for full day on beach - 2 beds and 1 umbrella. It provides a lifeguard but nothing further so not quite sure why it’s so expensive. It’s more if you go in peak season. €3 to change your beach towel - really!! Don’t know if this is a usual italian hospitality fee but wherever else I’ve been in the world a fresh beach towel is provided daily. The website mentions €2 daily for the room safe…don’t know if we will be charged this as haven’t yet checked out. The poolside service could be improved massively, I only saw the bar staff walk round the pool 3 times while we stayed at the hotel, that was out of 3 full days spent at the pool, on one of those occasion the staff member walked straight passed me - I was going to order a drink! No snacks offered by the pool, I asked for some crisps to have with the aperol spritz and was told no. The room cleaning is hit and miss, when we left a tip which we did a few times, the room was cleaned well. But other times floors not swept, shower and toilet not cleaned. it’s also not a given that your balcony gets swept we had to keep asking. The beds were only changed once. Breakfast isn’t the best selection in my opinion but everyone else seemed ok with it. No fresh juice, out of a machine, don’t know why a hotel can’t manage fresh orange juice. Coffee is also out of a machine, surprising, I never really understand why hotels can’t serve fresh coffee especially in Italy/Sicily. Omelettes are made to order but for some reason the pancakes and crepes aren’t, they are batch cooked and left on the side to get cold and chewy.

We stayed 5 nights at the Acacia Palace. The room had a partial sea view which was lovely, there is a sofa in the room which added to the space. The balcony faced the sun in the early evening which was lovely to sit on at the end of the day with a glass of wine. The room was spotless with housekeeping every day changing the bed/towels etc. The gardens are immaculate. The whole of the hotel is very clean and well presented. It was lovely to sit and have a cocktail in the evening and Gianni made very nice Margaritas. There is bar service at the pool whch was a nice touch. The hotel is very peaceful and relaxing especially if you had been out and about in the daytime. It is well located to visit Ragusa Ilba, Modica, Noto and Siracusa. It is an easy walk in the evening in the Marina to visit many of the restaurants. I would definitely visit this hotel again.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at this fabulous hotel. We stayed in a superior room with limited seats views and couldn't fault it. The whole hotel was very well kept. The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you. In particular Florentine. The food was amazing and we were very lucky in that we were treated to a 4 course a la cart menu every evening. The pools were kept very well maintained if a tad cold. The surrounding area was only just opening up as it was just the start of the season. But that was just a bonus for us as it wasn't too busy. The beach was just across the road from the hotel and there was a leisurely 20 minute walk to the main town and the marina where you will find plenty of shops and restaurants. Really enjoyed ourselves and will hopefully be back soon. Many thanks

Fabulous hotel - calm, clean decor; beautiful gardens, plenty of quiet & comfortable seating areas, 2 great pools, a minutes walk from a gorgeous beach and short stroll to small town. Hotel staff all very friendly, efficient, helpful and a special mention for Floren & his catering, restaurant & bar team. We chose early season for a quiet, relaxing, chill out holiday, and that is exactly what we got. Thanks so much
