Let me say that of all of my bookings in France this was the most disappointing. Right from the beginning I felt that the communication is poor. I emailed ahead to get the parking directions and the gate code and was told that I had to email or phone ahead within 24 hours of our stay for the gate code. Really??? Shouldn't that be up to the hotel???? So I phoned ahead and got the code, but when we arrived we found the parking confusing and there is not sufficient signage to direct you to the hotel parking. I phoned the hotel again for help, but was rudely interrupted and "talked over"...Anyways after finally finding the appropriate parking, stuffing our overnight essentials into a small bag (no one on the shuttle had luggage!), finding the shuttle and fumbling our way through the crowds and up to the hotel, we were frustrated. We were led up to our tiny (standard) room which we found to be musty and tired. I understand the premium price that you have to pay for the luxury of staying on Mont St. Michelle, but this is insanely overpriced. The decor was outdated, shabby and stuffy. I would be amiss if I didn't mention the air flow issue...I am not sure what the answer is but surely the customer's comfort should be important. There is no air conditioners so you have to rely on open windows..but the windows open onto the ramparts...so it can be noisy and imposing. The windows do not easily stay open with the heavy curtains and if you open the curtains it leaves you exposed to the
