AC Hotel by Marriott Manchester City Centre

Cons: - Upon arrival was asked to pay for a security deposit something which wasn’t mentioned anywhere online whilst placing my booking nor was I told about this when reaching out to the hotel to enquire if there’s anything I’d need on arrival when checking in the lady who responded failed to let me know about this. However this isn’t such a big issue as it’s common for hotels to ask for this, just would have preferred for this to be mentioned either on the website when booking/on enquires. - Room floors are extremely dusty like they haven’t been mopped or cleaned at all! Socks and bottom of my feet where covered in dust after a few steps. Otherwise looks generally clean and tidy. Wouldn’t have expected it to be dusty had I not experienced that, never had this at any other hotels which was a let down. - shower is really small, this is coming from a really petite woman at 5ft”1 just during the few mins of turning the shower on whilst I get ready to go in flooded the bathroom floor. Yes the bathroom floor not just the shower floor! Shower itself isn’t a good quality, I like to shower at night it’s therapeutic for me and calms my anxiety and helps me sleep better but this shower just didn’t feel like a proper shower at all. This was another huge let down. They provide a hairdryer but it didn’t work luckily we bought our own. - Lastly, the nights sleep was slightly difficult following the shower incident which didn’t bother me as much as it did to have been given a room located right next to a lot next door which is currently under construction and began working at 6am!!!! This was horrible! It went on until even after my checkout at 12pm which completely ruined mine&my husbands nights sleep. We are light sleepers and had booked to stay away from family for the night for some privacy/good nights sleep but this was the worst! We already struggled to sleep and to top it all off the construction work kept us wide awake for any sleep we would have been able to have. This bothered us the most as we specifically asked for a room someplace located quiet and where we wouldn’t be disturbed. Pros: - Regardless of the issues we had we did really love the hotel itself and the layout. We are considering to re book next time we are in the city but will ask for a room on the opposite side away from any construction work or noise - smart TVs allow you to screen share so you can watch your own Netflix from your phone onto the tv - parking isn’t available with the hotel but ncp &eurocarpark just around the corner walking distance of 2 mins - lots of restaurants and breakfast places nearby to order from and have delivered in a short time - husband checked out the gym which he loved said it was really good& quiet when he went.

It was perfect location to stay, we was to Depeche Mode concert in AO Arena 10 away to walk, rooms in nixe is well

Really really bad service, especially a Asian reception staff. Firstly, we live in a room which is close to a barbecue restaurant downstairs, the smoke directly poured into the room so we asked for a change around 3 pm, but accidentally to be told that all the rooms are fully booked. However, meanwhile we can see a lot of guests standing in the hall to wait for a check-in. Liar! Secondly, the handle of the window in my room cannot be turned so the window kept open. When we called the reception (Asian man) for help but he just gave us an excuse “ The handle truly cannot be turned for some’ security reason’, and all the rooms are the same.” It was such a windy day and we lived in a room with an open window, suffering from coldness. After our repeated requests, the reception finally gave us a new room, and we found that the windows of the new room could be closed normally. But the Asian receptionist who was caught lying didn't even offer an apology. Liar! Thirdly, the air conditioner is my original room is broken, some receptionist who checked our room also gave us an excuse like “every room is the same ,just take it easy”, but this problem is totally missing when we moved into the new room— the air conditioner can work well. Above all, I’m just wondering whether the manager of this hotel is teaching his staff to lie to the guests to comfort every guest, or the Asian receptionist is exactly a racist, who treats people of different colors differently, treating me as an *****. I hope the hotel can give me a fair explanation.

Warm and Friendly staff , was so happy to check in earlier, nice location and easily accessible to city Center. Enjoyed breakfast and highlight was making my own waffles.

They gave us an accessible room which was a terrible experience. We tried to call reception to ask about the possibility of changing rooms, and they told us the hotel was very full and there were no available rooms; however, we saw some couples checking in at night and they did not book the hotel beforehand as we heard that the receptionist told them that they have to check if there are any available rooms (they managed to find them a room a last). The toilet seat is shallow which unfits us; it is also unacceptable that there is no toilet lid, and the toilet water comes outside every time we flush, which we find quite disgusting and unhygienic. The shower was very inconvenient as well since the shower place was not separated from the toilet place; the water flooded the floor and the floor was wet during our whole stay. When we asked the receptionist for toothpaste, he asked us to go down to the reception to get ourselves, but eventually, when we went down, he told us to wait in our room and he would find someone to get it for us in a minute; his tone was polite that we are fine with it but we hope for a better arrangement next time. Overall, the stay was unsatisfying and we would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very close to the city centre. The room is very cozy, clean and spacious. The hotel staff was really nice and helpful as well. The hotel is exactly what you would expect from a Marriott hotel - everything is just perfect and cozy. Would recommend to anyone staying in Manchester for a holiday.

My room was meant to be with king size bed but we got 2 single beds joined together, the single beds had wheels on them so they kept rolling away from each other. It would also move around when you’d try to get into bed. Beds were super high as well, and when they are on wheels it’s a bit tricky to get into one of them especially if you’re short and overweight. Tv was not working, super old so had no smart hub, so no Netflix or any other platforms, you can’t even stream your screen view from your phone. Antenna had no reception so you couldn’t even watch any regular tv programs. Other than that, shower was great and clean, everything else in the room was also clean and the room was pretty spacious which I really liked. Location is great, you have an access to a gym.

Good location , walk distance to everything in city center. Newly and qualify as mariott chain. Recommended
