I booked this hotel for two nights, I could only manage to stay one night due to the dirt of the room and ensuit. I was also very concerned about the fire exits as I was in room 18 and this was in the basement. From my experience in the Parkwood Hotel, I could not recommend anyone to stay here . I can only comment on room 18 as I did not see any other rooms ,so if your brave enough to book this hotel stay away from room 18. Room 18 should be either closed to quests or have a complete renovation job. Only positive was the staff seemed nice .

If you are checking into the Parkwood Hotel and are offered Room 18 lwr ground floor avoid at all costs. We had booked for two nights 22nd May to 24 May 2024. We checked out after one night the room was absolutely filthy. The beds were clean but everything else was really bad. We could not shower as the shower and shower tray looked as though it had not been cleaned for weeks. The bathroom floor hadn't been washed either. Cups saucers and glasses had not been cleaned after previous guests had left. You can allow for a tired and dated room in an old building but this room should not be used for guests. Sockets were overloaded and an extension lead was left plugged in.

Staff & Food lovely. also location is spot on. however the building is very old and tired. our room. has 64 steps from ground floor to our room. then 79 to the breakfast bar there is no fire escape at all. very concerning when so high up in a building. the shower was unusable. the window can not be closed fully nor can the bathroom door. this is a very old building that needs a lot of work to bring it up to hotel standards. in fact it is more of a B&B. if you have any health issues at all you will struggle if you're placed in one of the top rooms the location is quite simply fantastic, walking distance from Oxford St & Hyde Park. sadly the building is really showing its ago. walking in to the breakfast bar the floor gives way under foot in the door way. the food is really good, none of this cheap quality stuff. and there is plenty of it. it's all a buffet type breakfast, staff are very friendly & will go out of their way to help you there is even a resident dog that will make a top notch fuss of you. if you're not to picky on standards & do not mind a climb up lots of steps then you will be fine,

Stayed at the Parkwood on the recommendation of friends. The hotel was perfect for what we wanted in a fantastic location. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was very nice indeed and the bathroom was exactly what we wanted. We were only there for one night on a prior engagement at The Dorchester which was a five minute walk away. The hotel was perfect for what we needed at an affordable price.

The hotel was in an excellent location the rooms were very nice and the customers service was very good I also got a free breakfast that was a full English buffet I would definitely recommend anyone else staying here and I will be returning again as it’s the ideal location for my business trip

Lovely stay here. Location was perfect, about 1 min walk from top of Oxford st/marble arch so everything is at the doorstep. Easy and quick check in, nice cosy room had everything we needed, fridge is a great addition in room, requests for extra milk and tea bags kindly met, batteries on remote died the gent replaced them and came up to ensure all was working, was sorted within 2 mins. Buffet breakfast included next day, the ladies serving made me feel like I was staying having breakfast with my aunties or something, genuine care for if I enjoyed my meal and had everything I needed. Was able to leave our several backpacks and shopping bags with the hotel after checkout to pick up later that day no charge which is big bonus for myself as I'm a bit of a 'everything but the kitchen sink' type person. I would recommend this stay for all its perks, cosy rooms, everything you may need, kind staff feels very homely to me

I was looking for a low-cost hotel in this area for an overnight business stay: akk I need is a clean room, a comfortable bed, wifi, tea/coffee facilities and a bathroom. The Parkwood apparently fit the bill. However, the shower was cold, the fan did not work, half the bathroom lights were out and in the room the electric heater was falling off the wall. The property needs a serious make-over. However, the staff were friendly and the breakfast adequate, and the double bed was comfortable for one.

Located just off Marble Arch, the area is conveniently located for Oxford St and Hyde Park. The area is also abundant for Middle Eastern restaurants. The hotel is perfectly functional. Rooms are a reasonable size, and the bathroom (walk-in shower) wasn't too cramped. (Worth a check because it looked like some rooms weren't ensuite). However, everything is very tired looking and repair jobs have been done on the cheap, which makes the place look somewhat rough. Check-in was smooth, though I was surprised to be called at about 5pm to be asked when I was planning on arriving (very politely). If I had a real grumble, it would be the creaky floorboard, which means you hear everything from the room above, and you become very conscious that you are doing the same. I didn't have breakfast. I was there for work, and it was fine for that, but it ihotels not a location for a romantic escape. The hotel is not disability friendly, stairs into the hotel, and has no lift.
