Ottolire Resort

If you are visiting the Trulli-houses and want a silent place in the middle of the olive gardens, this is not a bad option, though the price is not quite justified. Rooms are ok, nothing exceptional, and definitely not something I will remember later. There is also nothing to do in the area, unless it is a hot enough day to enjoy the pool (not heated) or you wish to book some treatments. The restaurant is excellent, and well worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood!

The property is lovely, with the pool amidst olive trees and grape vines. Some of the rooms are better than others, but they are not very comfortable. The beds were hard, and the pillows were impossible to sleep on (we put our down jackets inside our pillow cases). Also dogs on the neighboring property barked all night long so if you had your windows open, you could not sleep. Also there are desks in each room, but no plugs around them so it is hard to do any work or check email. The pool while nice, but it lacked energy and ambiance. The pool bar was not well stocked and the bartender who seemed young and inexperienced had to constantly run back to the hotel to get supplies. The addition of a hot tub or something would be nice. There is also nothing to do around this hotel, it is a drive to go anywhere for dinner. The staff was nice enough. The food and wine were very good for dinner, but the space is so hard with terrible acoustics that it made the night tiring to try and talk. They could use about 6 rugs and some wall hangings to improve the softness of the space. The breakfast was average. It was warm enough for us to sit outside one morning and the bees were so bad it kind of ruined the beauty of the spot.

Wow! Ottolire is such a unique experience! Set in the beautiful countryside of Puglia the resort is an oasis of relaxation and calm! I’ve never seen such a beautiful setting amongst the olive trees and grape vines. We had such an incredible stay here for a week for our honeymoon. The room was super comfortable and spacious, the breakfast was plentiful and the dinner was gorgeous. The breakfast buffet offers lots of fruit, pastries, continental and cakes. The portions at dinner are small so if you’re hungry make sure you do three courses. The chef needs to take a bow creating those dishes! The pool is lovely with a nice atmosphere and poolside bar. Plenty of chairs. An 8 minute drive to Locorotondo and Alberobello where there are plenty of restaurants and bars and things to see! We also booked some treatments at the spa which were so relaxing. The smell of the oils were beautiful! The Turkish bath and jacuzzi is also a nice touch! We also did a pasta making class which was so fun and the staff serve you your finished pasta by the pool afterwards! The staff need a special mention. They are on hand 24/7 and cannot do enough to make your experience as smooth and memorable as possible. Do not hesitate to book this place! We will definitely go back! Things to note: - hire a car - book your taxis and restaurants in advance if you’re not hiring a car - prepare some Italian, the locals don’t speak much English - there’s no taxi app

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon. It is a beautiful place in a fabulous setting. There's a gorgeous pool and so many opportunities to relax. We stayed in a standard double room and it was really nice. The resort is a superb base for Locorotondo, Martina Franca and lots of towns in the area

This a wonderful hotel. They have incredible attention to detail. We stayed in a room with its own jacuzzi in the patio. It was nice to come home at the end of the day and jump in. The rooms are well laid out and have tasteful furnishings/fixtures. I can't think of anything I would change. The breakfast has a great selection - it's also tasty. The staff is very pleasant. The location/setting is beautiful.

quiet and luxury stay, high level of design and comfort. We stayed for only one night and had a room with a hot tub. It didn't warm up during our stay. It takes time and was made noise so we gave up on it. We really wanted to have the food at the restaurant and we only offered the food at the BBQ due to a private event. We come to Puglia every year and this style of BBQ is or was basically what we eat at home all the time. We were staying here for my birthday and this was a surprise that my fiance booked. I explained that we were disappointed by the BBQ offering and they kindly are letting us come back to eat. What would I say? this is Italy so they are a bit more structured that other places: 1. pool opens from 9 to 6pm (stunning and exactly as pictured). I would be annoyed by this but we have the same size private pool at home. 2. unsuitable for someone who say has mobility issues (lots of steps down to the pool) 3. book any massage treatments way in advance - they are not always on offer. 4. IMHO this is a hotel to stay at and I wouldn't spend so much to stay at a place and say dine in Locorotondo (makes no sense). If you are there for a week then it is irrelevant. 5. Southern Italy is about slowing down and things take more time than you expect! But that is the pleasure in it. We had wanted to have lunch this day with friends. they were kind enough to allow us to pay per person to bring people into the resort. We ate nearby at a lovely restaurant instead as it was a proper restaurant lunch and was the same money for 6 with wine than entry alone for 4 people. They were only offering sandwiches. In my opinion I would book ahead to confirm that you can eat here at the restaurant if you are only staying for one night. Also plan ahead: call them and tell them that you need your hot tub warmed up. Book all treatments and get confirmation. I was a little disappointed to not benefit from the full experience and I emailed the reception and they were understanding and made things right. When we were checked in the lady did put on the hot tub for us. Sometimes I am a ditz with new technology. We did checkin later that we would have liked (probably 5pm). I would checkin on time if you are wishing to benefit from the full experience and also I would ensure before booking the room that you can eat at the restaurant that is mentioned in the Michelin guide.

Family of 4 with kids aged 13 and 17. This place is simply beautiful. Nestled in the Puglian countryside it is immaculately clean and newly renovated. The rooms and facilities are stylish and integrated with the surroundings. Breakfast is great. This is one of the nicest places we have stayed.

Starting with the unique and beautifully equipped rooms, the immaculate and charming grounds and the incredibly helpful and sweet staff, we loved our stay here. Our executive room was just perfect with a bathtub on the second floor bedroom and a really nice living area and full shower/bathroom on the first area - all done in a "cave chic" decor, which suits this location to a T. My massage was top notch and the property feels expansive and quiet, with the right level of service and privacy at every turn. Pool was just special - set in the country side with views and secret books that you will remember forever!
