The place was perfectly located, right next to a metro line. Which was perfect for us as we came up to Liverpool for the Chester zoo for our 1 year anniversary. It was more then perfect and we chose right with places to stay within the city. I will say, I felt the beds weren’t that great and was practically falling apart… but, it was for a full weekend so we weren’t as bothered. The place was lovely either way.

The hotel needs some updating, no sockets near the beds, on the other side of the room. Bathroom a fair size but the long window had no blind or frosted film, so when the light was on, you felt like you was in full view using the toilet or shower, especially on the first floor.Staff didn't appear friendly,. Lifts took forever. It would go to the very top floor, and then it was mostly full on the way down. Another lift was out of order.
Not sure if I would stop again.

Friendly staff in the breakfast area and to the receptionist who assist us 10th July 2024 (Wednesday) at 15:00 he’s approachable and accommodating I forgot his name he has tattoo. But a bit disappointed. Only continental breakfast you can have it if you’re in a hurry. But for hot breakfast you need to order in the menu and that’s the time they prepare it and serve for you I suggest it’s better everything is ready and hotel guest will just get it by themselves. Second one the receptionist who’s on shift at 11th July 2024 at 12:30 in the afternoon wasn’t that nice. it’s 2 ladies receptionist I pass the key on her and she just said thank you. The other lady just look at us without saying Hello. Front-desk receptionist should be accommodating. not even bother to ask us how’s our stay which should be standard to all Hotel service staff. Receptionist are the front one who promote your Business it’s just my opinion Halyard so I think it’s better to inform them.

ผผู้เข้าพักHighly disappointed as I booked two nights for my mom and her husband who were visiting the UK for the very first time. My mom is the biggest Beatles fan and I was so excited to book this hotel for her. When I booked, I asked for the hotel to make sure to give her a good view on a high floor not knowing there are only 5 floors. I’ve attached a pic of the literally trashy view she had. Now, if this view is the only option on the 5th floor, then an email should have been sent for better views on lower floors. because I did ask for a high floor not knowing what the hotel is like. No wonder the pictures of the hotel and the rooms when booking are not clear.
This hotel is beautiful from the outside but unfortunately the inside is just a regular old hotel with pics of the Beatles scattered around.
If this isn’t bad enough, one of the days they left the hotel without taking a shower because there was no hot water and no warning of it. My mom was polite and kind and told me she had a good time, but that’s only because the hotel is in a good location.
Parking was a headache as there was no clear direction and she was not told about the fee prior to. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
There is a lot of room for improvement here.

ผผู้เข้าพักI stayed in the standard room for 5d/4n and I was very satisfied overall. I moved to a private room from the dorms and I think it was a very good choice. I enjoyed the desk and private bathroom and the bed was very comfortable. I was also happy that they provide a small heater for colder nights. Midway through my stay, I finally found the kitchen downstairs and used it for heating up very small minor things . I appreciated the cleaning staff and their effort in keeping the kitchen clean. It is hard to do with a building full of people! 🙂 well down! Check out was super fast and no-fuss. Thanks for keeping things in tip top shape!
KKennedy83Firstly the bad points-
*The Carpark was full of old furniture from the hotel and empty beer barrier preventing you getting parked,
*The hotel has turned into more of a party venue hotel rather than the beautiful hotel it was when I last came with my daughter 2018.
*tap in the kitchen area in our room only let out hot water and unfortunately the room stunk of what I could only describe as a sewerage smell? Whether the drains needed maintenance I’m not sure but I I just sprayed some deodorant around to help make it not smell quite as bad because I was so tired I didnt want to have to swap rooms.
*There was also no phone to call reception which I found strange and the remote for the tv was missing the back of it.
I put all this bad points down to the fact that when I previously came it was owned by someone who really cared about the maintenance and reputation of the hotel but now I’ve found it’s since been sold it seems the new owner isn’t as bothered and all what the shankley represented before eg, maintenance, luxury, football themed has kind of turned more into a tacky themed hotel and doesn’t feel classy anymore. I’d probably not stay here again as it’s not the same as it was and just the whole feel of hand hotel is different. It’s not the best if you have come with kids as there’s lots of drunken guests in the hotel and it’s noisey but thank goodness it’s a large hotel as you don’t hear the noise from downstairs. We were on level 3.
Our room was lovely and big with a large double bed and 2 twins pushed together, a kitchen area with tea bags and coffee (no biscuits but that didn’t bother us as we had snacks with us
The upsides were-
*Staff were pleasant,
*breakfast was amazing with everything you could possibly as for,
*hotel was mainly quiet on the 3rd floor, room was on the whole clean and had a hair dryer, iron and ironing board with a safe.
* . The bathroom was lovely especially the bath as it was a jacuzzi with a waterfall shower. Everything was clean from what I could see.
LLeeExcellent apartment, clean and everything we could need. Stayed here with my son for a dad and lad city break. Location is perfect. Very close to the centre. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to others.
