Surftides Hotel

This hotel is amazing. I have stayed here for years. HOWEVER, TRIP DOT COM needs to update what kind of room you are getting here. TRIP DOT COM does not know the specifics. In addition, check your BOOKING DATE. If you do a google search and log in thinking that you will be staying the same dates, TRIP DOT COM might push your search date to another day. Again, THIS HOTEL IS FAB. PERIOD. TRIP DOT COM needs some help :)

Everything was amazing really. It was a real downer though that cable was not working, and it was a great gesture of the hotel to give free dvd's but most titles were out so that was kind of a downer too.

Very cool place to stay right on the beach fell asleep to the ocean sounds. Peaceful, had breakfast on the balcony

The receptionist (male), was super rude and unaccommodating. No cable. We have stayed here quite a a few times, but this was by far, the worst experience.

Not the worse property I’ve stayed at but definitely not the best. Check in took about 25 minutes to get checked in, I did like the old school keys to open your room. Cable provider has issues so no TV was available in the room, but they did offer free DVD rental at the lobby for our room. We had no cell service inside the room, AT&T, and WiFi wasn’t strong either, we barely had a connection with the WiFi. Restaurant was probably the worst part, waited 30 minutes inside just to see if they even had a table available, we ended leaving before anyone ever acknowledged us. Best part about this property was room, we had the 1st floor and front seat to the ocean, I could watch those waves crash all night! Overall it was a decent stay just a bunch of small inconveniences that added up quickly.

Stayed here 20yrs ago and had a great time stying here in Feb 2024. They took care of us. Just with the restaurant/bar stayed open a little later.

Loved the close proximity to the ****** and restaurants. Pool and Spa were very nice and relaxing. Excellent views and beach access.

Nice beach view - even with the partial view - small room but fine for 2 people. There wasn’t a dvd remote and they couldn’t find one so that was disappointing. Hot tub small but worked:) Overall hotel is good. For the restaurant Mist - We were excited that they had a restaurant on site . After viewing the menu I assumed it would be a good place to celebrate our anniversary , the menu looked good and the prices weren’t too crazy. The food was okay but the service was quite disappointing - I’m not sure our server should be in the service industry. Not a friendly or personable person at all. We didn’t even mind that she never brought us water or silverware till after our food arrived . She just seemed miserable and like she hated her job. And that’s a bad person to have waiting on all your tables , all the guests looked like we felt. Uncomfortable, very off environment.. They were busy and I’m sure needed another server or 2 but there was plenty of opportunities for her to be engaging with the people waiting on their food and drinks, and she would just walk by looking very unhappy to be there . And unfortunately it didn’t seem as if that was just a bad day but maybe that’s just the kind of person she is, we wanted to eat there for breakfast but decided to go somewhere else because of this visit. The place we went down the street had amazing service - yes a big wait not amazing service and food. Hope this helps with some insight.

Booked an oceanfront standard king with fireplace. I have stayed at this property before and was surprised when given an end room, these were not pictured nor described on the website. It’s was about 1/2 the size of a king room, but the same price with a very small triangular balcony, which was on the side of the building facing other residences and a bit of the ocean. Room interior was updated but due to size, furniture felt like an afterthought with a small round table and two chairs. Vizio live tv service was lagging, so couldn’t watch any programs. Seems like they squeezed another room where a larger suite should have been created with the adjacent ocean-facing room. Room did not feel relaxing nor welcoming, just a place to sleep. Rather disappointing considering the price.
