After other five star hotels in Crete, Akasha was a disappointment. Hotel is new, beds are comfy and restaurant staff are friendly. Beside that the hotel doea not meet the standards of a five star hotel. It has way too many rooms compared to the size of the area. Hotel and pool area feels very crowded. There are not enough sunbeds on the main pool area. Other pool is situated near beach and it is small and ugly. One problem is also the area, Hersonissos. The place has stuck to 90s. I would not visit here again.

Booked for a week all inclusive mid October. Had read previous reviews and sun bed availability issues and repetitive food but can honestly say, didn’t experience either! Upon arrival, we were greeted in reception with a refreshing beverage and asked to take a seat on the sofas to begin check-in. An App is then uploaded to your smartphone which acts as your key to your room (or you can request a std keycard if you prefer) We were then shown to our room, where enroute given a tour of the hotel & facilities. Room was immaculate! Cleaned daily and minibar re-stocked with beer, Prosecco & soft drinks. There’s a choice of 3 outdoor pools, one indoor and the beach. We chose to use the rooftop pool most days and never had an issue in getting any. You’re supplied with towels for use on the beach and pools, which are replaced daily. Staff are super friendly! Special mention has to go to Ioanna, Nada and Dimitris! Always chatty and by day two knew what drinks we liked! Food selection and quality were amazing! As we were all inclusive we did have the option to have one meal in the A La Carte restaurant but didn’t feel the need to as there was always a great selection at the buffet restaurant. We were so impressed by the staff & hotel, we’ve already re-booked for next year!

Wow! What an amazing hotel. We visited here for our late honeymoon and it was just what we needed. We arrived late at night and we were made so welcome from the minute we arrived. We were welcomed with a drink followed by a tour of the hotel from the porter while taking our bags to our room. The standard of our room was outstanding especially the whirlpool we opted for on our balcony, although be wary of other rooms connecting to the Bluetooth speakers on the hot tub. We were very happy when we got settled in our room the find complimentary sandwiches and water in the fridge after arriving late. The little touches we got for our honeymoon were lovely too, desserts and a bottle of bubbly. The desserts were to die for, a huge shout out to the patisserie chefs, every dessert we had during our time were out of this world. Every part of the hotel was to a very high standard. We also found every member of staff to be so kind and helpful, especially Nada when we dined in the restaurant the first day she made us feel very welcome and this continued for the rest of our stay. We are already looking forward to returning to this hotel in the future.

Firstly I’d like to say the hotel has beautiful decor and is very clean and tidy. However… both myself and my fiancé went to stay for 5 nights and paid for the room upgrade for dazzling sea view plunge pool room - when we arrived it was late and we could not see but I knew we were on the lowest level so, when I woke up in the morning and opened the curtains although I could partially see the sea it felt way more of a pool view room and where we were everyone could look up into our pool and room and it felt not private at all. I went to reception to explain this and they said they have no availability to move us up higher (I do believe this is a lie) and that if we wanted to go up higher it would involve a room upgrade which I refused. I gave up on trying at this point and just tried to enjoy the rest of our short stay. I felt incredibly out of place at the hotel as all you would constantly see was hour long photoshoots of people posing on different areas of the hotel - it made me cringe so much! The hotel was absolutely full of people like this looking down their nose at you - you would smile and they’d look through you. We went half board which I am glad because when we looked at the drinks menu very minimal drinks are actually included. They were charging €6 for a bottle of corona so I went across to the spar shop opposite and paid €1.80 for the exact same thing. The restaurant was ok at best - very small and food is repetitive. I have seen this hotel is advertised as a family hotel but I would most definitely recommend not booking if you have children - there is absolutely nothing to do. Overall I feel so disappointed and would not recommend to any friends or family. We paid so much money for this which is what makes it feel worse.

The overall experience at the hotel was excellent, every member of staff was really friendly and helpful! The views were stunning no matter where in the hotel! Very clean and tidy too! Especially loved the food and my massage at the spa. My spa therapist Dimitris was skill full and really helped me relax and loosened the knots in my back. Dimitra was also great with my friend when we went on Tuesday. Many thanks to Emma, the spa manager for offering us a massage demo and reminding us to book in time for my birthday massage!!

July 2022 We stayed at Akasha. The Holiday as a whole completely blew us away. Literally everything about this place is just sublime! 33 years of age and can 100% say this was the best Holiday we have ever had. Mostly down to the accommodation. If you are looking for a relaxed, 5star break and have a certain taste for quality this IS the place for you!
