Perhaps it was because we came in winter, but this hotel did not live up to previous reviews. It was very much a mixed bag across the board. I've rounded down the stars as I'd give this 2.5 if I could, as it's definitely not a 3 star place currently. The Good - Comfy bed, nice linen - Comfort in the room in general - Cleanliness - Eco friendly large bottles of good quality soap shampoo etc - Location for leaving the city for day trips The average - General location - this will be off-putting for some people as it's in housing estates (and not affluent ones), it's about a 16min walk to the tram station, and very narrow roads driving in making it hard to get to (cars parked all along the sides) - Road noise - constant but only an issue if you open the window which we needed to as the room was very warm and air con wasn't cold, tho not surprising as it's winter (I expect it wasn't turned on) - Parking - in a caged/ gated section, wouldn't like to be here at a peak time as it was almost full the two nights we stayed The bad - Breakfast - very disappointing, not much choice at all, no effort put into it, no hot foods. Photos online definitely don't represent what's on offer at least at this time. - In room TV - while a nice TV, no movie channel and no way to connect an external device or log into any of your own services - WiFi - did not work the entire time we were there (this was not the individual hotel's fault but that of IHG and really for such a huge chain inexcusable) - Staff morale - while everyone was friendly, no one did more than was expected to the point that when asking about finding a particular regional dish in the city, we were told ”I have no idea, just ring some of the restaurants” Bordeaux is a lovely city, as is the region as a whole. I can't recommend this hotel unless you need to be in that area particularly or are only passing through for a night. I've stayed in Holiday Inns before and while cosmetically this is one of the newest/ nicest, it left a bitter taste in the mouth. We've been staying in lots of hotels in France so far, and this has been the worst experience, for example the following night at a very old and cheap chain hotel in Biarritz next to the airport, we had an incredible breakfast, zero noise with the window open, and wonderful and helpful service (despite France losing the final).

Admittedly, this is a bit of a concept, so it’s not for everyone. The rooms are tiny and minimalist, with nice-quality furnishings (Hansgrohe shower heads), but not many of them (no wardrobe or somesuch), combined with the – somewhat au courant and very cheap – coarse chipboard and industrial details. So if you’re hankering for cushy-cushy premium 5star luxury, move on. But the upsides reach from very low prices, to a very small footprint in CO2 (and other resource-use) terms, to a very pleasant international contemporary interpretation of common areas (yes, we have foosball), to an unexcitedly cool clientele. In a way, it reminded me of the early high-concept Club Med, with extremely modest rooms (often tents) and a focus on the communal experience, at times a bit essentialist. For us, less was more.

Se trata de un appart con kitchenette, sencillo y cómodo. Tiene un estacionamiento muy cómodo en el que pude dejar la moto en la que viajaba. El desayuno no estaba cubierto por la tarifa, costaba once euros y era muy bueno. Me recibió una joven muy amable que hablaba un inglés sencillamente perfecto. I stayed together with my partner at your hotel in Merignac last week the nights of the 29th and 30th of October. The night of the 30th we came back to the hotel around 22:30 p.m. and the reception was closed, so we used our card to open the main entrance of the hotel. Unfortunately, the card was not working as the door did not open. We tried several times to call the number which appeared in the front door, but no one replied. Suddenly some customers who were inside the hotel appeared and they opened us the front door. They told us that they have faced same issue; they could not open the front door. Additionally, they could not open their bedroom door, as the card was not working. We tried as well to open our bedroom door, but same issue happened, the card did not work. We were around two hours trying to reach someone from the hotel to solve this unpleasant situation, but we had no response at all. We were checking numbers of different Nemea hotels. We talked to both Lyon and Toulouse hotels, but they told us that they could not help us. They were stating that they were independent hotels and that they had no relationship between each other. We really felt abandoned and the whole situation was very unpleasant. We did as well call the police as we were desperate to solve this issue. As we had no response whatsoever from the hotel, we decided at around 0:15 a.m. to leave Nemea and search another hotel to spend the night. We needed to get a sleep. Same did the family that were with us in the reception. Moreover, they had two young daughters. Next morning, we went into the Nemea reception to explain the whole situation. The response we got from the man in the reception was to write an email to the following email account: merignac-stadium@nemea.fr. We did not accept so as we wanted a compensation on that same day. After that they agreed to pay us for the new hotel room we booked. This was not acceptable, and we required to compensate for the lost time, the several calls we did, the medication I was not able to take, and all the inconveniences caused. Finally, we got paid the hotel night at Ibis plus the Smartbox value. Finally, we would like to take the chance for you to recheck the internal policies on how you control the security as well as the emergency numbers in case any technological damage arises. A customer cannot be left abandoned as it has been done in this case.

Good for one or two night. Bed is correct but Space between bed and walls is very little.Professinals are great and discret. Frenchy breakfast makes satisfaction for quality and choice.its a good ”rapport” service/hygien/price.
