Great location. Staff were good and polite. The pool is quite small but good enough for few people. Rooms are specious with good size bathroom. We were happy with our stay. One downside is that was no breakfast included in the price which should be a standard.
This location is unbeatable, especially to access the beach or volleyball courts. I was impressed by how clean and well kept the showers, bathrooms, sinks were. I wish there were a few more linens (e.g. personal fitted sheet), but it was great to get towels included. EXTREMELY friendly and helpful staff—they made my trip much smoother and helped me avoid hassle. Overall, really happy with my experience. Downsides that the staff can’t help: you’re sharing a room with dozens of people, some of which will snore and disrupt your sleep. Make sure you have earplugs or properly prepare to sleep with loud snoring sounds or people talking at times.
The location is excellent, which is a major plus. Although the building is older, the units are quite decent overall. The pool is on the smaller side, so it might be best to think of it as more of an added feature than a primary amenity. One area for improvement would be the bathroom cleanliness; a more thorough cleaning would enhance the overall experience.
a wonderful hotel, which is located very close to the beach, restaurants and shops. It has its own area on the beach, but you have to pay for chairs and an umbrella, and you are given a voucher, according to which they provide all this on the beach. We will definitely come back again.
ผผู้เข้าพักWe live in Key West and come to Miami every 2-3 months. We have stay at this hotel, the Fontainebleau, or one of the 2 Kimptons for 5 years and always had a great experience at this hotel until this trip. It started at check in The guy at the desk “Carlos” was rude from the beginning. He was a smart aleck about everything. It was my wife’s birthday trip and it was definitely not the way we wanted to start it. Our room was hot and we didn’t have enough towels. We had dinner reservations and were going to see Andrea Bocelli. When we got back the room was still hot but we were exhausted from the day so we went to sleep. At 6:0am it was so hot it woke us up. My wife went to the front desk and a very nice Eloisa was there and helped my wife and they sent someone to look at it after 5 minutes it was working. I asked what was wrong and he said “it had a bubble in it” but acted like he couldn’t speak any more English. The thermostat was on cool and set 60° but the room never got below 74° at 6:00am. When my wife went to ask for a Double Tree Cookie she was told they were no longer a double tree hotel. This is one of the main reasons we stayed there and it has definitely changed. When we got there The Miami Dolphins were playing in Miami and every TV in the awesome bar area was off and I asked “Carlos” if they could turn the game on and was told it was under renovation but there was no sign of construction and if it was it had nothing to do with the tvs in the lobby. The entire vibe here is not what it was the last time we stayed here. This is a great location and one of the only hotels that still has a hot tub “but it only works half of the time”. He was also a **** about the pool towel card policy and said if I didn’t return the nasty reused card I would be charged $25 per card just to get a towel by the pool. If you do decide to stay there and there is a 20 something Spanish guy at the desk come back later for the sake of your peace on vacation.
ผผู้เข้าพักThe lobby is freezing cold. The staffs are friendly. The check-in wait time was about 20 minutes because there was only one front desk staff and the group before us spent too much time.
The room is decent and clean. Love the balcony and direct access to the beach. The pool is kinda small, but they have two pools.
CChalsey LBoulan South Beach – Honest Review
I recently stayed at Boulan South Beach and overall had a great experience, with a few minor drawbacks.
Positives:
The location is fantastic—just one block from the beach and in a very walkable area surrounded by great restaurants and bars. The hotel itself offers solid amenities, including a small but relaxing rooftop pool with a bar. One of the highlights of my stay was dining at Orange Blossom, the on-site restaurant. The food was excellent, and I’d highly recommend checking it out even if you’re not staying at the hotel.
The rooms are well-appointed, apartment-style suites that feel spacious and thoughtfully designed. I also appreciated how quiet the rooms were—perfect for getting a good night’s sleep after a day out.
Negatives:
That said, I was disappointed by the bed. The listing advertised a pillow-top mattress, but the bed was far from comfortable and fell short of our expectations. Also, for a room that otherwise felt luxurious, the lack of bathrobes was a small detail that would’ve really rounded out a luxurious experience.
Additionally, while the room was clean, some of the design choices were lovely but weren’t the most practical for a hotel setting. The cloth-upholstered bed frame, while stylish, showed some staining—fabric furniture can be hard to keep looking fresh in a high-turnover “fun” environment. Similarly, the jute rug added visual texture but proves to be difficult to clean and showed signs of wear.
Final Thoughts:
Boulan South Beach is a solid choice if you’re looking for a stylish, well-located hotel in South Beach with great amenities and a quieter, more refined atmosphere. Just be aware of a few comfort and design trade-offs. It really is too bad, because Boulan is excellent on so many things and I would 100% go back and definitely recommend this hotel to others… However, the bed quality really brought down the overall appeal. If they can improve that one aspect, this would easily be a top-tier stay in South Beach.
