Dealing with Choice Hotel main line when I booked. What a nasty debacle! They had to compensate for the free night. It was a disaster of a planning. I had to deal with the Manager due to being hung up on by the first agent and then I had to call 2 more times. By the third time, I dealt with a very good Manager named Gustavo. But I should not have had to do this. But I did. My friends and I booked with Choice hotels for our trip to Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada in November. I will definitely write a review for this trip. It's at the Country Inn and Suites. We already had a small hic up with parking. The first person we dealt with said parking was free. Then my friend called back and found out that parking was not free and we had to pay for it. They were able to take off money from the room rate to compensate. Can't anyone get their act together at Choice Hotels call center or calling the hotel directly? It's NOT difficult! -------------------------------------------- Queenbury, NY Country Suites Inn. This is a well-kept hotel. Close to everything. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast every morning was good. It was a good experience until we went into our room. - We like to take our clothes out of our suitcases and put them in the drawers. First we check to see if this is clean. Not even close. It was very dirty in the drawers, the shelving with the drawers which is also the TV stand and the night stand beside our beds. We used the wet wipes and they were black! That's a big turn off. We made the front desk staff aware of the dirt. This is a busy hotel Great! But it needs to be cleaned properly and thoroughly. I've attached 2 pics of the cleaning my wife had to do. She should not have to do this. - Now we understand and it's become the normal with all hotels that every 3 days housekeeping would come to our room. That's great! So we requested then to have housekeeping come on Monday and when we returned to our room, housekeeping did not show up. It was the 3-day wait. By this time it was pointless to have house keeping come on Tuesday as we were leaving on Wednesday. We had to keep the AC running all day until we arrived to our room. If we had turned off the AC by accident and there was a moldy, musty smell. A 2-star hotel with a 3-4 star pricing. We understand it's a tourist area. BTW, I'm not talking about the payment on my last night where the room had to be comped with points. I paid from Friday to Tuesday. ******NO ONE SHOULD BE REPREMANDED FOR THIS****** JUST FIX THE ISSUE PLEASE! This experience was not well received by my wife. I hope this is seen by management of Choice hotels.
This place was so much better then the last place we stayed at. My only problem with it was they advertised indoor heated pool. That was the coldest heated pool I have ever been in! It was almost as cold as the temp was outside. Could not even stay in the pool without freezing. Sad cause that is why I booked this hotel.
Overall we were pleased. The hotel both in the private rooms as well as public areas was really clean. The breakfast area was clean, spacious and the food was good. The women working in the breakfast area were pleasant. One even handed out candy! The rooms were nice and roomy. The room bathrooms were large as well! The location was close enough to attractions but also not in the middle of all the hub bub. The only real negative was that the front desk staff seemed frazzled by the eclipse and that they ran out of towels. The hotel and parking lot never seemed over crowded but in the 4 days we were there, they never got any more towels.
Iivan645We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at this Best Western. We were given a comfortable 2 double-bed room on the ground floor with a small fridge, coffee maker and in room safety deposit box. It is well located and in a quiet area. Easy to park with not much walking from your car to your room. About 2 minute drive to many Lake George attractions, restaurants and stores. We really appreciated the complimentary breakfast with a very good choice of food. We really enjoyed the inside hot tub and heated pool where we could relax for a while. I have to mention that there is also a large outside pool opened in warmer seasons. All in all it exceeded our expectations and this at an affordable and decent price compared to other facilities in the area. From check-in to departure time all was perfect. Thanks to Brea at the reception and to Robert W., the General Manager, who introduced himself and greeted us personally when we checked in. Also Cristy when we checked out. The room maids did a great job and I had a chance to say a few words in Spanish with them. And finally a big thank you to Elsie who manages the breakfast room like if it was her own business, taking the time to chat a little with the guests and making sure we have everything we need. All the staff at your hotel is friendly, attentive, listening and devoted to please customers which gave us the opportunity to share some memories of our younger years in Lake George. When we go back to Lake George it will be at your Hotel. That’s for sure! Many thanks from Diane and Cleveland for a most pleasurable vacation.
