Thalacap Île de Ré - Thalasso & Spa

Do not believe all you read! The hotel is tired and lacks staff. We came for one-night and were looking forward to checking in and then not moving until the end of the following day just to chill. Unfortunately this was not to be. We found ourselves a nice spot by the pool and we're going to spend the afternoon there. The whole area is tired without a working toilet and at around 5pm the locals are then allowed in to use the pool too taking all sunbeds. The water in the pool is very cold and this topped our afternoon off the hotel has a bar but is only open when the restaurant is so therefore during the afternoon if you require a drink you can only purchase a coca cola or bottle of water from reception. When questioned they replied we don't have a bar only if the restaurant is open!!!! I have never been to a hotel where you cannot sit by the pool and have a cold drink! That evening we decided to go out to the local area and have a drink then head back to the hotel for something to eat and drink. Upon walking into the 25% occupied hotel restaurant and asking for a table at 8.20pm we were asked had we booked? Which we replied no we were not advised to and that we were residents. The restaurant manager was so very rude and refused to try and accommodate us or help us. We returned to reception who then tried to find us somewhere to eat. We then asked if she could speak to the restaurant for us which she did but the restaurant manager was so very rude and shouted at her. We did end up with a table and the food was OK but not worth the 38 euro each that was charged. It was bland and not particularly hot. The mille feuille dessert was lovely but was one leaf of pastry topped with piped cream. Certainly not million leaves of pastry! As others have commented breakfast is not much better, 20 mins waiting for bacon and then if you got some you were lucky but you could easily get a glass of wine and oysters for breakfast! The restaurant manager again was rude and again we were an inconvenience, his staff were sad and uncommunicative and exactly at 10am when breakfast ended everything was removed preventing anyone who arrived any later than 0945 to get anything to eat. Fawlty Towers springs to mind. The lack of access to drinks during the afternoon and the exceptionally rude restaurant manager are only 2 reasons not to return but then there was also the lack of air conditioning in the rooms, the pathetic shower in the room and the very cold and odd swimming pool. I would advise to just to visit the thalasso spa only for the day! I will never remember this hotel break in a positive way and would recommend those thinking of staying to not. There are not any shops or bars close by you will need to take a good 15min walk.

The hotel was tired and not what the pictures reflected, The spa was in a completely different part of the hotel to the main outdoor pool The pool area was sparse and with no working toilets which meant you had to walk in a wet costume through the hotel reception to use one the pool was freezing it did not feel like it belonged to the hotel more that it was a municipal pool the hotel guests could use share with another set of businesses, rude staff, despite advertising a bar there was nowhere to get a drink unless the restaurant was open, so after arriving at 2pm were were unable to get even soft drinks or coffee till 5 hours later Although we we residents we were refused entrance onto the restaurant in the evening because we hadn't booked and they were full but we weren't told we had to book and only 20 people were seated for dinner ? We eventually got a table but the restaurant manager had a very heated discussion with the receptionist for this to happen. we sat as we waited for a table in the bar area the bar person acknowledged us and then disappeared for 20 mins when I went to look for her she was sat on a table with guests chatting. the set menu was basic, expensive and the service was rushed and we felt like we were nuisance rather than a guest. We returned to the room to find the aircon didn't work At breakfast again the same restaurant manager was rude not just us but other guests too, they ran out of bacon and it took 30 mins to be replaced. when I queried the bill due to the issues we had, we were refunded 2 drinks and breakfast that was 18 euro was reduced to 12 so for 2 people the 400 euro plus price was reduced by 30 euros.The manager said we had a reviewed a good deal !!!?? it was my first visit to the island my friend a regular, I definitely would NEVER stay here again as the write up and pictures do not reflect what you will find when you arrive

L'accueil est agréable, le personnel de l'hôtel et de la restauration est serviable et aimable, et le personnel d'étage est souriant. Le restaurant est excellent, le rapport qualité/prix est présent. Petit déjeuner de qualité avec produits de circuit court et bon. Dîner excellent, et service avec le sourire. L'hôtel est vieillissant. Chambre propre et literie de très bonne qualité. Salle de bain qui fonctionne, mais les joints se dégradent. Les points lumineux de la chambre sont obsolètes et peu judicieument placés. Chambre sombre. Les couloirs ont les plafonds qui tombent à certains endroits. La thalasso est très vieillissante, très loin des jolis clichés du site internet. Piscine sombre et dégradée. Joint et carrelage qui se décollent, plafond moisi. Manque des carreaux de carrelage dans le hammam. La température de l'eau était correcte dans la piscine et le jacuzzi. Le prêt de matériel, bonnet/claquette/peignoir/serviette est en bon état et propre. Deux jours agréables dans l'établissement, avec un point fort sur la restauration et le personnel de l'hôtel-restaurant.

Parfait pour ce détendre . La chambre spacieuse et très propre. Les jeunes filles en thalasso souriantes et avenantes . 2 mes séjour dans cet établissement. Hôtel très bien entretenu. Petit déjeuner complet . Huitres au petit déjeuner c est le top. Le personnel agréable. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir

Nous avons opté pour un massage en duo, et c’était un bon moment de détente. Les praticiens ont su adapter la pression parfaitement à nos besoins, rendant l’expérience vraiment bénéfique. La piscine d’eau de mer est bien et agréable pour prolonger la relaxation. Toute l’équipe est chaleureuse, accueillante, et aux petits soins, ce qui ajoute à l’expérience. Enfin, le rapport qualité-prix est tout à fait correct pour une telle prestation. Nous recommandons vivement cette thalassothérapie à Ars-en-Ré et y retournerons sans hésiter !

J'ai tenté uniquement la partie Thalasso sur 2 jours , Accueil ? Le client dérange les conversations privées. Aucune explication sur les infrastructures à disposition. d'autres devraient changer de métier au lieu d'houspiller les clients à l’accueil nous faisant patienter avec une brochure sans explication …massage vraiment vite fait , jeune génération qui se fout du clients. L’hygiène est à revoir, slips usagés dans les cabines de douche, murs immaculés boue, couvertures sales …… Piscine agréable, propreté des vestiaires bof odeur d’urine …. Les soins médiocres, les prix sont à revoir ….la qualité n’est pas au rendez vous ….
