Tissa’s Inn is in a lovely old area of Kochi. Sanitha went out of her way to helping us. I was unwell, and on the day before we arrived asked if we could have help sourcing a doctor. Everything was organised for us the next day, including a great local Tuk Tuk guy who walked us through the Indian hospital process to see the GP. Then, Sanitha jumped in and chased up our next day transfer who were being unresponsive. The hotel itself is beautiful and a great spot to base yourself out of for Fort Kochi.
Everything about our stay at The Taj reflected 5* luxury. The welcome ceremony when we arrived set the scene for a stay which keeps guest interests at heart in everything they do. We arrived in time for the delicious (complimentary) afternoon tea followed by the sunset cruise. Breakfast the next morning was excellent with outstanding service provided by the ever-smiling attentive staff and perfectly cooked eggs. The pool area is lovely and kept clean by the staff who ensure all guests are comfortable and provided with fresh towels and drinks etc. Our balcony suite was beautiful, we had a view overlooking the sea and the bathroom had a freestanding tub as well as a modern rain shower. The room was scrupulously cleaned every day and a turn down service was also offered every evening. In-dining room service was efficient and there was a varied menu. Everything we ordered was well-presented and delicious. The reception staff, travel desk staff and lobby managers at the hotel were all so polite and helpful and were happy to organise our sightseeing trips/taxi transfers etc for us. A thoroughly enjoyable stay which met our expectations of a 5* hotel. Thank you.
Had a wonderful stay for 6 nights. We got upgraded to room with backwaters view. Thanks to the staff who were always welcoming with smile. Buffet was good with widespread options. Their Bangalore dosa and cheese omelette are a must try. Also their inhouse restaurant Meen by Chef pillai must not be missed. Tried their signature dishes suggested by the staff and it was finger licking good.
Hotel is more suited for business travellers as nearby corporates offices suggests. As a solo leisure traveller the hotel was not for me, in terms of sightseeing etc with everything futher away. Breakfast and dinner selection was somewhat limited but nice food. Prakash the waiter served with care and efficiency. At the Spa on one of the nights there was no one there at the reception to take queries as the one and only therapist was engaged with an appointment! So what does one do wait for hours to be atteneded to? As a sign suggested i left a message for a call back for an appointment, but got none.
ผผู้เข้าพักThis hotel is in a great location and not noisy. The staff could not have been more helpful right from making booking to departure and everything in between. There were 10 of us and they went out of their way to make things easy for us. We arrived from an overnight flight and and although they couldn't have 5 rooms ready for us early they had 3 and people had somewhere to go and get washed and rest. We needed early breakfast one morning and they opened the kitchen early for us. The rooms were clean and having a reasonably priced restaurant in the building was extremely handy. The food was also very good!
SshortsortieThe hospitality industry is so profit driven it has lost its perspective on its true purpose. It is rare to find a great hotel but funnily enough it is rare to find a very bad hotel or a bad hotel experience. Neemrana Tower House in Cochin, was a bad experience for my family. I booked a family room (1 king bed+1 queen bed) with an extra bed for 2 days and nights, for 4 persons from May 13th to 15th, 3+weeks in advance after clarifying details on their websites, other platforms and by calling the Manager operations, Ms. Vinita Vijayan herself. I was told that yes it was available and that booking any later would not guarantee the same facility. The booking was done online in full payment for 3 persons with extra bed charges to be paid at the hotel on arrival. I reconfirmed our booking a few days before our travel as well. At no point were we aware or told that the premises were being renovated. Come 13th of May, when we reached the hotel just before 4pm after traveling from Pollachi, we noticed that the hotel was under repair with no staff in sight to immediately receive or guide us. I walked into what seemed like the reception, saw no one and then looked further in, to see a lady who was the manager working on her system in her office. I introduced myself and had to ask her for guidance and help for parking and baggage. After 15 minutes of that, we checked in. I even paid up the additional extra bed charges for 2 days. As we were moving to our room, we saw that all the rooms were being renovated. Our's seemed to be the only one ready. On asking about the pool the manager said that it was being renovated too. Basically apart from meals in our room or the dining area, the rest of the hotel was unusable. On confronting the manager, she said she had informed us and it was updated on the website. Both NOT TRUE, which I double checked. She offered no compensation or even explanation. That's when we got upset and I asked for some reparation of what was an obvious con. She was unapologetic and almost indifferent! Long story short, we took care of our own comfort. I insisted on a refund, which was promised with no timeline. Refund of the extra bed was offered too of the day we were staying and the next, but the manager refused to commit in a mail. The next morning despite assurance of a formal mail about the refund as payment was not immediately possible, there was nothing. After insisting, a short mail was sent promising 1 day's refund. We checked out at 10.30am. After about 2 days, 1 day's refund was done without the additional bed charges including the day we did not stay( we were charged for a bed we did not use) Throughout the stay there were no efforts to make us comfortable. The breakfast was lack lustre and just average with runny scrambled eggs. Definitely not going to trust the Neemrana brand again. Beautiful property, horrible management.
GGo53332171691It was a huge mistake on my part to come to Kochi and to this hotel over the New Year holiday when madness descends all over town and in almost all hotels. On 31st Dec and 1st Jan I could not find any 5/4 star hotel providing a la carte menu in their restaurants. And there is nothing in the neighborhood as any option. Everyone was busy sucking the gullible public and raking in the moolah with outrageously priced buffets and ear splitting noise all night long. This hotel has historic credentials and belongs to a Group that started off on the sustainable premise and heritage properties. I have not stayed in of the other CGH hotels, but this one is fast decaying. It is in desperate need of a major refresh and updating. It is blatantly showing its age and worn out status. The bathroom is a major embarrassment, shower / plumbing fixtures are broken or not working, old style bathtub with plastic shower curtain, flush not working, hospital style white lights, frayed torn towels. It was impossible to get a proper night sleep on the old, sagging mattress. Breakfast was average. Staff have good intentions but lack in execution. Restaurant staff are not properly trained. The welcome drink is a small glass of colored sugar water. They still provide drinking water in plastic bottles in spite of their claim to be sustainable. This is a fast fading Hotel sitting on its past glory.

TTraveling TanSapphire Club Metro offers a convenient and comfortable stay, ideally situated in the heart of the city. The location serves as a perfect base for exploring, with some of the area's famed tourist attractions, such as the Chinese nets and Jew Town, being just a 30-minute ride away. Despite the central location, the rides to these destinations are surprisingly inexpensive, adding to the convenience of the stay.
Room 201, while directly facing a wall, surprisingly retains a bright and inviting atmosphere. Sapphire Club Metro was a good choice for my travels because I was seeking a blend of city life convenience with easy access to cultural and historical sites.
ผผู้เข้าพักAmazing staff and very beautiful and stylish hotel. The architecture, the rooms, the gardens and pool are really beautiful, sensitive to local styles as well as super comfortable. The pool was very refreshing after a day out in the hot weather and very clean. I had an extremely relaxing Ayurvedic massage in the treatment room with a very experienced practitioner. The breakfast was lovely and the dining room is fresh and charming. But most of all, the staff were incredible! They were there for my every need and provided advice and even booked my train onward train ticket and arranged for me to be taken to the station early in the morning. Its in an interesting location with a theatre right next door. I cannot recommend the wonderful hotel highly enough.
It's a beautiful place, with an spectacular view, the best seafood and cold beer of the city, There is a friendly service, in special Amal. If you are in Cochin, you must come here. It's a increíble moment for see the Fisher in the night, It Is a moment for remember.
