We arrived at premiere inn, the check in was very basic. Given the card to our room and that was that. Not told anything extra. Arrived to our room to an old smell of dust and mould. We had a look around noticed the tv was just about on the wall, hanging off. The room was just really dated. There was dust on all surfaces, especially on top of the wardrobe area. I love hotels and never usually look for these things but they were right in our face. Mould on the windowsill and curtains. At this point my partner stayed in the room and I nervously went downstairs to ask if I can upgrade to a premiere plus room. I never complain so this was odd for me so I decided just to ask to upgrade. As I got to reception the man didnt even make eye contact, I said sorry to be a pain (not that i was been) could i upgrade to a premiere plus room? He then said abruptly 'no' which took me back as the hotel seemed quiet. I ask again and said well, id like to, we will pay?? And he then said 'no you cant upgrade you have chosen the room you have chosen' so i said oh ok thanks and walked back to the lift. As I got into the room my other half was upset at the way we were being treated. So we grabbed our stuff, my partner went to reception and said we are leaving. To which the man replied 'ok bye' and we left. We both previously have worked in customer service jobs and know that this is un acceptable and that he could of atleast tried to help or offer some alternative but instead he was happy with us just leaving. This was a date night for us so all we was focused on was getting to a nice hotel and relaxing. Otherwise this could of ended up in a big conflict. I am disappointed and it has put me off vsiiting premiere inn again. And we are also £57 down as we didnt even stay the night!
