The Garden House

If you want to stay at the Hilton, go stay at the Hilton. If you want to be welcomed like family, stay at the Garden Inn. Being welcomed by Sammy "Miami" was like staying with some quirky long lost relative. I've never been to Key West before, but this type of atmosphere is supposed to be what the area is known for. Laidback, personal, and full of character. Try the waffles, I'm a food snob and even I thought they were good.

I have mixed feelings. There isn’t a lot of signage so finding the office was a challenge (side note, if you’re debating on paying for parking, do it. It’s so much easier). I found some guests and they pointed me in the right direction. The guy running the front desk was great. Super friendly and super helpful. Unfortunately my room was not so great. The room is very small. No chairs, no tables and no room to walk around. The shower has very low water pressure, like anything less it would be a dribble. The outlet for my window AC did not work so while the wall AC did an okay job keeping it cool, it remained fairly humid. I’m also a light sleeper so not having that window AC on, I could hear every little noise. BUT the bed was super comfortable as were the linens. I wish the front desk was open later so I could have addressed my concerns but they close early and I was out eating/being a tourist so they were long gone by the time I got back and noticed everything. The overall room needs some love as there’s holes/patches, loose outlets, uneven doors and broken blinds. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

Highly recommend! No frills but a great staff and great location! Limited parking but a staff member moved his car so I could park my high top camper van - A . Great made to order waffles. 3 blocks from Duval and two from the waterfront - very walkable.

I did not think we would use the pool. It was such a nice feature in the middle of the day to come back and just relax and chill. The house was very pleasant, I would love to come back to Key West and this is definitely the place to stay. We are not early risers , however having breakfast on the porch was something I looked forward to because I loved the ambiance. We met other residents who gave us good tips on where to go. Every day we met new people who were very friendly. We were there one week, we rented bikes right there on the property which was very convenient. Sammy was a great host and very helpful on how to make the most of our trip. The location is great, so close to all the action

Sammy from Miami was probably the best hotel manager I ever met. Texted my phone when my plane landed to check with us. Sammy directed us to the best restaurants and bars. I considered him as the Ricardo Montabone of the Keys. We will definitely stay at the Garden House on our next trip to the Keys

The hotel was close to everything and the staff especially Sammy Miami was wonderful, made us feel at home from the start. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to town!

The Garden House was a great location and very clean. Loved Sammy and everyone who worked there. Just be aware its clothing optional on the top deck!

Management was outstanding, propert was clean, quite and perfect location

Room was small but clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Belgium waffles with fresh fruit for breakfast were great. All in all we were very satisfied with Garden House.
