It’s extremely good hotel where you can truely feel the people life in Lake District

We spent 2 nights here recently and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet at all times. The evening meals were chosen from an excellent menu and were delicious as was breakfast. Every member of staff we met were polite, friendly and efficient. The hotel is situated in beautiful scenery and a variety of walks can be enjoyed directly from the hotel. Thanks very much to everyone!

Have stayed at Borrowdale Gates a few times but this was the first since the refurb. Very happy to report as good an experience as ever, great views and position, really nice people and excellent food. Maybe not all the bells and whistles of somewhere ultra modern but that’s part of the reason we like it so much, a deeply comforting hotel in all respects. Never change too much and thank you!

This is a wonderful hotel in the Lake District. Stunning location, absolutely peaceful views in the valley. Very nice room, Friendly staff. Could return here over and over. The only negative is that the dinner meal is overpriced and lacks variety; there are a minimum of choices.

For a weekend of pure luxury I highly advise spending a weekend at the Borrowdale Gates Hotel. This hotel is the jewel in the crown of the Borrowdale valley, and once visited, you won't want to go anywhere else. Suffice to say, the food is phenomenal, the staff attentive and friendly and the views are everything you would wish for. The General Manager (Sue) makes the place tick and I personally find this place, the team, and the experience the complete package. Go and try it....

Had a wonderful stay. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Food exceptional. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel. We will definitely be staying again.
