There's a small supermarket to the right of the hotel entrance where you can buy yogurt and other similar items. Behind the hotel is a commercial street where you can shop, but the shop owners are quite casual, and some close very early. The room has a small balcony, not too big or too small. The only drawback is the poorly designed bathroom; the shower is too small, and the toilet paper isn't even next to the toilet! You can arrange airport or ferry pick-up through the hotel on Ctrip, but this will incur an additional fee."

Lifeguard constantly telling people off for jumping in pool, depending on who was jumping in pool. Sun loungers old, tatty & uncomfortable, umbrellas old tatty . Breakfast poor . Food quality poor. Lunch menu & food round pool poor, drinks poor. Bottled beer was good. Receptionist was lovely Will NOT be returning…"

"Our first visit to Kefalonia and I am so pleased we booked this accommodation. Great location steps from the beach. We stayed in a ground floor apartment with a sea view . It was spotlessly clean with fresh towels every day and bed linen changed frequently. The addition of fly screens on all windows and the door was a bonus. Spiros and his staff staff were lovely, both at the apartments and in Hemingway's. Great food and drinks, always fresh and well presented. The sunbeds are really comfortable and a lovely guy came around and took drinks orders. Really can't fault it and we were so impressed, we are looking to book again."

If you want a quiet and tranquil holiday, Porto Skala is perfect…the staff where there for you and helpful in all ways..Evelyn was attentive and informative in all aspects of the island. Nothing was too much for her to help you enjoy your holiday…The restaurant staff, Chris, Van and Danny very good staff, and always made your visit to the restaurant pleasing. The pool area was ample and plenty of sunbeds… the pool bar was run by Franklin who seems to like Bob Marley a lot, which was played on numerous occasions. My wife and I can’t thank all the staff enough for the two wonderful weeks.. thank you all"

"We just returned from a 4 night stay and had the most wonderful experience. We travelled to Argostoli with our 2 older teens (17 & 19) who shared their own room. We were all located on the 2nd floor. My husband and I were upgraded to a room with 2 balconies one with a jacuzzi tub. It was one of the nicest hotel rooms we’ve stayed in and we travel often. The kids room was smaller but appropriate for their needs. The shower and products offered were all high quality. The towels, bedding, robes, and pillows were also excellent quality. The staff are attentive, helpful and kind. The minute you sit down in the lobby they are ready with a fresh glass of cold water. The breakfast service is beautiful. The tall gentleman and the women who are there most every day are professional and attentive. They really make the experience wonderful. The assortment of choices is perfect to start the day. The location of the Casaly Hotel is excellent. It’s just about 4 minutes walk to all the action of the main downtown area. We preferred staying a bit away from all the action as it was quiet and peaceful. We loved sitting on the balcony looking at the water everyday. There is not a doubt that if and when we return to Argostoli we will return to the Casaly Hotel. Thank you again Katrina and Maria at the front desk for all of your help!"

"Visited for two weeks at end of June 2026. Hotel check in. Check in was quick and friendly but the hotel rely on customers scanning a QR code for most hotel information you need. We were given a photocopied A4 piece of paper with some hotel information on which was unreadable as the hotel printer must of been low on ink which wasn’t ideal or very professional. Had to return to reception to get a safety deposit key, hotel pool towels and a second room key which the hotel should offer on initial check in so customers are not inconvenienced and reception staff are not making double the amount of workload. Location of Hotel. About three miles from the centre of Skala. Courtesy bus during day. At night a taxi is about €8, reception will order. Taxi rank for coming back from town is on the main road in Skala adj to main square.(Looks like a bus stop). Difficult to get a taxi back to hotel after 1am. Hotel is built on a cliff face. Lots of steps and steep climbs. Only a lift from restaurant to lobby and another from lobby up to al a carte restaurant. You can request the electric golf buggy to move luggage or if you find steps a struggle. The beach is a five minute walk down a very steep road. There is no sand its like a terrace with a few sun beds but there is some pool type steps for you to climb into the sea which is really nice. Rooms- we were in room 701 which was very spacious and had a great view of the sea and you could see part of the pool. Comfy massive bed. Had kettle + TV, some of the furniture is a bit dated. Fresh bottle of water left every day. Not enough clothes hangers in wardrobe for two people but can request from more from reception. Lots of storage and drawers. Had two showers in the bathroom and a bath. Showers really good and powerful. Adequately sized bathroom. The sliding wooden bathroom door had no handle and was difficult to open. Room cleaning- Room did get serviced every day but I don’t think the cleaner swept or mopped the room floor or patio in the two weeks we were there. Had to contact reception once as no replacement bathroom towels left but replacements were brought quickly once raised . Our room door was not shut properly on one occasion by the cleaner as I was putting the key into the lock the door opened. The door pulls to and should lock on the first catch but hadn’t. You need to turn the key to double lock but never was double locked. Patio doors left open by cleaner on numerous occasions as was the patio door in our neighbours room. Someone could climb over patio wall from adjoining rooms to access your room. Restaurant- The service was hit and miss and clearly deteriorated towards the end of the holiday as the hotel got busier. In most hotels a waiter is allocated to a certain amount of tables. The waiters at this hotel didn’t appear to do this which caused confusion amongst the staff. Waiters often arguing amongst themselves and older men staff shouting and talking down to the younger staff. There"

"We recently stayed 5 nights at Kefalonia Bay palace the staff were all very friendly and helpful and the views are amazing. Lena the manager was always close by to ask if everything was ok, we found the 2 bedroom villa with a pool very relaxing but lacked kitchen space to wash glasses ect. The pool closing at 7pm each day is a bit early when the weather is so hot. The location is very step with lots of steps and the rooms are very tired."

"This is my 2nd trip to Astra Village this year. I was here with my partner in July and stayed last week with two of my sons. This hotel is just wonderful. We were Half Board. The food was fabulous and well replenished, a great variety and with some lovely Greek traditional dishes too. The staff in Reception and throughout the hotel are really lovely and friendly, always willing to go out if there way to help. The rooms are cleaned daily and during the week replenished fresh linens and towels. Our room was overlooking their beautiful gardens and the sea. Loved my morning coffee on our terrace. The location is perfect, transfer from the airport is only 10 mins! Ammes beaches are just a short walk away, where we got to see baby hatchlings (turtles) making their first journey to the sea! What a wonderful experience!!! Watching the sunset from the hotel is something you can really look forward to each night too. Astra Village has the best views!! The bus stop is 4 mins walk from the hotel, so you can visit Al Helis beach or the lovely Argastoli if you want to venture out. We also loved watching the friendly cats and kittens play, a part of Greek heritage and an integral part of daily life in Greece. We had the most amazing holiday, thank you all so much again. What a perfect place :-). We will be booking for 2027 very soon and look forward to seeing you all again. Xx"

"It is a lovely hotel.. Katherine is very welcoming when you arrive. the rooms are quite large all with a beautiful view of the Ionian Sea. The pool is absolutely beautiful. Every morning we were welcomed by Natalie who would take our breakfast order.. the food was delicious. We also ate lunch and dinner at their restaurant and everything was amazing. The staff is wonderful always checking on you by the pool.. it was our second stay and it was wonderful!"
