Bluebird Lake Placid

I enjoyed my stay. The room was comfortable and clean. The furnishings were updated and cute. The bed was comfortable. It was nice to get fresh towels daily. I wish I had a coffee maker in my room. The common areas were very nice. I enjoyed sitting there and looking out over Mirror Lake.

Disappointing, misleading and ill equipped for hospitality. Leaving unrested, anxious and furious. The experience of this hotel equates to sleeping on a friends couch during a house party, but with better pillows. Within two hours of checking in I felt entirely unwelcome and mislead by bluebird and asked to leave. I am worse off for having stayed here, and wish I just got right back on the road rather than try and get any rest here. I work in hospitality and have never written a review before, but this is genuinely the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I will be forwarding more details elsewhere. The complete lack of respect from other guests and lack of accountability/reinforcement from staff with the failure to offer me a way to get out of this environment has been detrimental. I am very upset and will be seeking a refund. The limited assurances I was given regarding quiet hours (as the bare minimum) weren't even followed up on. For a space that has undergone such extensive and intentional upgrades in todays hospitality climate, I am shocked by the lack of care and protocol in the remaining areas of this business. I feel stuck in this hotel that I cannot enjoy or rest in. If I could afford to just buy another hotel room anywhere else I would. I paid a premium for a beautiful hotel that fell flat in every other category. I have a more detailed review speaking to these issues that I will be following up with.

I had stayed a few times at this hotel years ago, before it was the Bluebird. I was completely shocked to walk in and see the transformation. The attention to detail regarding the decor and the ambience is amazing. We stayed in the king suite and it was simply the cutest. The fact it was so affordable was the icing on the cake. I will definitely recommend and stay at the Bluebird in the future.

They gave us the room in the first floor and it was too noisy whole night and day. People on the second floor was making noise and we couldn't sleep all night. It's like live on first floor of the apartment. I complained to the staff but they said they can't do anything about it.

Wonderful location, beautiful hotel, but the staff was either not present, confused or disinterested in hospitality. Coffee was not available until 7:30am and ran out quickly, the bar was understaffed or not open at all, and the staff was generally aloof. Our room had a slow draining song and the bathroom door lock was loose - both of which I informed the staff about but went unresolved over the course of our two-night stay. Under the right management this would easily be a 5 star hotel.

Arrived to hotel and work was yet to be completed on the drive up entry so we pulled in and used the side entrance. What they have done is quite nice inside the lobby with a super cozy fireplace / quiet area. The attempt being made to make it look new was accomplished but still an old feel to the rooms and elevators, hallways. No one at desk at times, wanted a drink at the bar and no one was there around 830 and the entire lobby was empty. The "pull out bed" in the king junior sweet was a couple of couch cushions and certainly not worthy of being a bed. One of the rails on the cushions was broken so it was sliding around during the night. It was meant to sleep three but my 12 year old twins could have used a proper pull out bed. Again, all fixable. Just seems as though they are trying to cover up things to make it look new rather than truly make things new and fresh. As these hotel chains come in and want a piece of the action in the ADK they need to make sure they aren't just throwing around some pine and rustic trends and opening the doors. Proper painting, proper contract work. Proper flipping the hotels and making a worthy opening.

Modern Mountain Hotel with great design details and sitting areas. Hotel is still under construction and parking was limited or non existent during the holiday weekend. Location is awesome and walking distance to downtown Main Street. With luck, you’ll have lake views. Walls are thin and windows are original. If you don’t mind the noise, this is a great spot.

I loved the new look of the place. The staff was friendly and helpful. The fire place adds a nice touch to the relax atmosphere. My room was comfortable and clean. Daily housekeeping was provided and I really enjoy that service. They don't seem to be done with the renovations yet so if you need to use your room during the day I would ask for a room away from where the work is done. Also in a great location. You can walk everywhere and easy parking. Overall I did enjoy my stay. Price was reasonable. I recommend this hotel and would go back

Hundred or so kids on property running through halls making noise. Booked first floor and was asked to move, would be an upgrade. Put us on third floor, I’m five weeks into full knee replacement and elevators were not working! Fire alarms went off on two separate occasions. There was no attempt to control the kids!
