Hotel staff were kind and so mush hospitable toward guests, also they have a service-oriented work disposition

A stunning boutique and quint hotel, location is perfect and the staff make it absolutely perfect. I’d definitely recommend upgrading to the all inclusive plus, the cocktails are SO worth it and you get bottled water too which is great if you want to explore the local area. Will be back!

Myself sister her husband and two children 5 and 9 years of age stayed for one week all inclusive plus at the hotel from the moment we stepped inside was made to feel welcome was lovely clean rooms ready for us before the allotted time of checking in nice view of the pools and beach from our balcony fresh towels and beach towels laid out and fruit basket and bottle of wine for our arrival the food was a buffet style and plenty of choice staff excellent in all aspects especially with local knowledge and children really enjoyed the cocktails made on the pool bar, choice of two sides of beaches with sun lounger and umbrella all set out for you to choose. Entertainment was lovely kids loved the mini disco and also enjoyed belly dancing and Greek night ! Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great family holiday.

A small hotel in a village that has shops, bars and restaurants all walkable. The 2 rooms we booked were perfect for us, had everything needed to have a comfortable night sleep and shower, nice touch having a bottle of wine on arrival in them too! Cleaned everyday and fresh towels. Friendly staff on reception who were able to help with local bus times and where to get the bus from - 2 min walk to the stop for Chania and 15 mins walk to the stop to Rethymno/Heraklion. Also you can pick up beach towels from them each day 👍 Momo was able to organise trip to Samaria gorge with pick up and drop off outside the hotel which was great. All food was buffet which had a good choice for all- we have a vegetarian in our group and there was plenty to eat, albeit some days better than others, but always a full plate (or two!). The staff again were great, keeping the tables and areas clean, one of the guys (unsure of name) was always smiling 😊 Wine, beer and coffee on tap to help yourself (and soft drinks during meal times) and lovely cocktails from the bar 👍 Wasn’t expecting a lot of the entertainment based on previous reviews, but was pleasantly surprised- the eve entertainment was low key but a great band, magic show, traditional dance show, music quiz, only day no entertainment is a Wednesday. Penelope the reception manager was amazing and helped in sorting out us keeping our rooms longer on our final day (as we had a late flight), great as we were able to spend the day relaxing on the beach, then have a shower before heading off! Booked into the spa with Niki for our last morning. My son had the tailor made massage with Georgia and said it was great. I had the Calm sea massage (back neck and scalp massage) and a facial with Georgia - highly recommend -she checked within first few mins that I was happy with the pressure - it was really relaxing and a perfect end to a great week.

Pros Nice food, salad was tasty with fresh bread being available with each meal. Ice cream was available post breakfast through to just after dinner. Staff was really sweet and communicated positively to all our enquiries and requests. Sun beds with umbrellas were provided on the beach and next to the pool areas. They were available all day. Matthew from GT travel is available next to the reception most days to help with any activity/booking trips. Really nice and helpful. Nice atmosphere after dinner with events for kids and adults. Cons Despite vegetarian signs being there, there was no clear nut allergy signs for my fiancé to check. The bathroom floor doesn’t have the best drainage. Water was leaking on to the floor and took ages to dry up. There is a road split between the 2 hotel buildings, this caused some disturbance at night with traffic and downgraded the overall atmosphere of the hotel. The external and internal pools were very cold. Almost too cold to swim, we found it easier to go into the sea. The bed we had in our room was very big. However, it seemed to be 2 wide single beds put together and could be annoying to sleep on as the bed would start to separate and it would create a uncomfortable dip in the bed. Due to late departure to the airport, we tried to extend our stay in the given hotel room. Due to the extra extended stay cost being 60 euros, we decided to use the spa showers. This was quite difficult for us as there was only one shower and the door didn’t lock either. Would have been nice if we were given an empty room for an hour to shower and get ready. Overall, it was a lovely experience at this hotel. The weather was nice and the town is close by and it was fun to shop around for souvenirs. We would suggest looking at the pretty cathedral that’s only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There is a nice walk on the road that goes towards the harbour which is where we went to go on our boat trip!!! Highly recommend this boat trip, was a fun and enjoyable experience. CUTE FACT: if you walk past the harbour and keep walking to the end of the road, there is a cliff edge where you can walk along and take in the lovely view of the sea and the island. Shout out to my fiancé that chose this spot to PROPOSE!!!!!!!

We just come back from 10-day break to Crete to Kalyves Beach hotel. What can I say about this hotel as a Greek myself I always like to write good reviews for my fellow Greeks but not always going as you plan. If we have a good time, I write good and real reviews for people to know what to expect from the hotel and not what is around, so here we go. Reception. Check in was fast as we arrive late night, the lad by the desk I can’t remember his name it was very helpful very chatty and explain everything to as and through the time every night it was there with nice smile and talk, big thanks for that, the morning ladies not much of talk at list they say good morning ect Hotel. The hotel is in very good location next to a small river and in front of the beach 2 separate buildings with 3 pools 2 outdoors 1 in doors, 0ne bar only serving drinks not enough and again big thanks to Baggelis and the French girl for the good service. Entertainment was taken place every night every day but I don’t know because of the weather not been very good and it was freezing cold every night people they were leaving early but it’s worth it to stay till the end as we enjoy the music, now through the day the sea was freezing cold and very windy in some stages we thought we were in Lanzarote. Rooms. Don’t be fool from the photos on the web site some front rooms they are good size if you pay the price and some family rooms all the rest of the rooms they are small particularly the bath room please see photos the shower is 2x3 feet not even a 5 year old can have enough space to shower not an adult the rooms have coffee make facilities and fridge comfy beds and pillows and good size balconies with no privacy on top floor as they are all open. Restaurant. Now the most important Breakfast very good call it 4* Lunch very good call it 4* Dinner just ok same food repeat every day not much of selection the first week, little improvement the last 3 days not very hot but at least it was tasty whatever they were serving if you eat just salads you are ok plenty of them apologies to the hotel for that. You need to improve the food. Very big thanks to Giorgos as it was the only one to have very good relation with the gests and always there to help, the rest of the waiters need little more training to speak to the gests and smile. In general, I rate this hotel 3* for my self and not 4, a couple stay next to our room they been there before 5 years ago and told as then the food it was brilliant now it’s really low quality they were going out for meals every night and we done the same for few days as there are lots of restaurants around with very good prices to eat out and very nice and tasty food trust me on this one. There was not atmosphere in this hotel to make you feel you are on holidays. This was my review for the Kalyves Beach please feel free to ask any questions. We stayed at the hotel two weeks ago and we had such a great time! It was perfect from start to finish. All the staff was really lovely. It's a family business so not a big resort type but our room was clean and big enough for the 3 of us, plus we really liked having a balcony on the adjacent river. It was beautiful to wake up on the morning and see the geese etc. Lovely location if you have young kids too as you are right by the beach, on top of the 2 outdoor pools and there is also one inside. We truly made the most of it and met so many lovely people. Kalyves village is a gem. We LOVED it there. Beautiful memories made!

Great staff and facilities. Receptionists friendly, smiley and welcoming, guest relations Momo very helpful. Restuarant staff all great. Therapist Dina and Spa manager Niki provide the best massage and spa services in their modern spa inside the hotel a real treat. Perfect!

The hotel has the perfect location, because it‘s located directly at the beach. The view is amazing. The private beach is insanely beautiful and not too overcrowded. The staff members are very friendly, competent and helpful. Perfect for a family beach vacation!
