Suraj Haveli

This is an exceptional home stay - we were greeted by AJ upon arrival who made us feel so welcome. There are 8 rooms at the little hotel and the owners who reside on the bottom floor who are the loveliest people. The property is in a quiet little court close to all the attractions of the blue city. We were lucky enough to be there during the Holi festival and celebrated with AJ and his family. Could not recommend this place highly enough. Thanks AJ and family - Traci & Steve

Very nice rooftop, amazing view and delicious typical Indian homemade meal (thali). We met the entire family after dinner from the kids to the grand parents and the two brothers who handle the family business. Super nice and helpful!! We haven’t stay at this guest house but we have seen the rooms: nicely decorated with all you’ll need. I recommend 100%

Great experience we enjoyed a lovely dinner on the rooftop for sunset. Very ro***tic for dinner or even only for a beer. The food was very good, outstanding view and AJ and his family were super welcoming. We had a look at the rooms and they are very cosy and confortable. I recommend 100%

We had a great stay at Suraj Haveli, the owner and his family were very attentive and made us feel at home. They were always ready to help us and we could even do a washing machine at their place. We also enjoyed the view from the terrace during breakfast and the fact that bedrooms were spacious and placed around a central courtyard.

We spent 4 nights here with AJ, VJ, their parents and family. They live on the ground floor and the first and second floors are where the guests stay. The third floor is a terrace where breakfast and dinner are taken and above that is another terrace. The views of the fort from the terrace are absolutely amazing and it was lovely to spend time relaxing on the terrace after a busy day. We ate dinner here every night and they gave us different thali each evening and catered very well for our request of “little spice please!” Our room was I think the best room and had great views of the fort and was large and airy, with a wet room. There are a lot of stairs to negotiate (as there would be in any haveli I think) so maybe if you have mobility issues you might want to bear this in mind. AJ was very helpful and discussed what we might like to see and do during our time in Jodhpur and made all the arrangements for taxis, tuk-tuks and a jeep Safari to visit the Bishnoi villages. If you are visiting Jodhpur and would like to stay with a local family in their haveli then I would recommend this place.

We were a family travelling to jodhpur for 3 days. We loved our stay with AJ and his family. Very atmospheric and nice. Wonderful Tali at the rooftop and cosy rooms. We was very happy with our stay. Also good recommendation for a walk of the blue city

We (my fiancé and me) had an amazing stay here in Suraj Haveli. The accomidation is a wonderfully kept Haveli in the old town of Jodhpur. The family living here was enourmosly welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our cozy rooms were clean and included everything we might need. Aj even made us a plan to visit the city. In conclusion, we had a great time here and can recommend it to anyone coming to Jodhpur

Very nice family business, warm welcome, all family members speak very good english and will give you helpful advise for your stay! The rooftop has beautiful view on the fort and the city! Can't reach it by car cause its in the old city part, so prepare for walking about 5 min! Clean bathroom and bed! Would totally recommend it, espacially for foreigners!

The location is fantastic; impressive fort views from the rooftop and easy walking distance to the clocktower, market and stepwell. You can climb up to the fort from the lanes if you wish. Our homestay was comfortable, the bed was firm but we slept well. It’s quiet away from the road noise. Taxis drop at the clocktower gate and then it’s a short tuk tuk ride for 100 rupees and a 50m walk through narrow alleyways. The towels were thick and the water hot with good shower pressure. There were complimentary snacks in the room and a welcoming necklace on arrival. It’s authentic and AJ is very helpful with advice. Our thalli meal was delicious -thank you! We didn’t expect or use the TV and the hairdryer was functional. It met our expectations for a homestay.
