Occidental Jandía Mar

Traveled with my three teenage daughters but the hotel is absolutely worth it for any age. The pools were absolutely fantastic and all the staff are so friendly. Activities to do everyday that anyone could join in with. There are lots of activities for people of all ages, the waterpark was absolutely incredible and little splash park for younger children. Room was clean comfortable, and spacious. Food was lovely with a massive variety at breakfast lunch and dinner. Hotel definitely recommended. Weather was slightly windy but sunbathing spots by the pool were so perfect it didn't matter!

Excellent and professional service from all staff we met. Everyone was helpful and questions were answered with a smile. Our room had a lovely view over the pool area and was always cleaned(even without the clean sign). The choice of food in the buffet was excellent, catering for all tastes. The gardens of the hotel were pleasant to walk through and allowed easy access for anyone with mobility issues. A thoroughly enjoyable stay and one we would recommend.

As per the title really. We are a family of three - 2 adults and one five year old. We’re currently at the resort on our penultimate day. The hotel and facilities are good/adequate for a 3* resort. A little dated and worn in places but we found everywhere to be clean and tidy. There is definitely some lower quality rooms - we were originally in block 9 and had to move due to noise. Our second room in block 2 is exactly the same decor but feels a lot less tired than our first room and with much better views. It is a reasonably cheap and cheerful holiday for us and we feel we've got exactly what we paid for. The food could be better but there is always a decent selection (unless you’re a chicken nugget obsessed five year old) and the drinks selections are good too. We’d heard a lot of people had issues with food poisoning but luckily we’ve not experienced this. The lower pool is quiet and offers more shaded areas but the temperature of the unheated pool in early June meant it wasn’t for us. The top pool is busier and it is always hit and miss whether we can get a shaded lounger next to the shallow area. Some more shaded areas would really work next to this end of the pool. One negative about the top pool is that there is an odour - it’s an unholy trifecta of poo, sunburned flesh and coconut oil. Grim. The water park is the winner for us. Really modern and clean. A great selection of slides and activities to keep our five year old busy for most of the day. We ordered a burger each (we were AI+ so this was free but there is a charge for standard AI) and it was perfection. I feel there could be better catering/drinks options at the park but this is my only complaint. The water park catering staff are absolutely lovely and deserve a special mention. The animation staff are so friendly, the restaurant staff couldn’t be more helpful and the bar staff are all wonderful. It’s just a shame the reception staff really let the side down. We had only one positive interaction which was on arrival. We arrived at 9:15pm so the man checking us is immediately gave us our wristbands and directed us to the restaurant so we wouldn’t miss dinner after a long day of travel. He told us he’d complete check in after we’d eaten. This was the only good interaction we had with the reception staff. As above, we had to move due to noise. We spent two nights with noisy neighbours, making multiple complaints to reception. On day three we asked to move rooms and were met with a lot of resistance and a request to come back the next day should the noise continue. As we’re only here 7 nights we had to argue and stand our ground, politely requesting they move us that day. The reception staff were really unhappy about this and very begrudgingly moved us to another room later that day. We lost some of our AI+ privileges due to this - water was not refreshed daily, no access to some of the room “perks”, etc. luckily we took the free drinks from our original room but neither room

Unfortunately, the photos on their website do not show the current state of the hotel. There's a shocking lack of maintenance everywhere. Food is ok and the staff is as helpful as they can be, but i'd never go again and would not recommend it. Entertainment is hit and miss. They get points for the splash park, which seemed to have had a makeover and is brilliant. The hotel is one hour drive from the airport and there's not a lot to do around, unles you take cab to the local shops and restaurants.

Ok for families but generally needs some TLC around pool and bathroom cleaning. Food was generally bland but ok for children.

Great stay here, the hotel was well maintained, clean and staff worked really hard to make sure you had a nice stay. Food was good, not a great selection for kids, but they always ate, burgers chips etc were readily available. As adults we always found something nice to eat, always warm. Staff worked tirelessly at see I've times, always clearing and cleaning, our daughter is gluten free and and she always had something to eat with a bit of pre planning with the staff. Nothing was too much. We upgraded to all inclusive whilst we were there. The reception staff were great. The heated pool was such a good thing to have, kids were constantly in there, inflatables allowed, really nice vibe round the pool. The entertainment team were amazing, worked so hard to keep you busy with games and shows, coming round serving drinks and food on some occasions. Our kids loved it so much. Nighttime mini disco and shows. Beach was only a short walk away (be prepared for a good walk back up the hill) Morro Jable only a 30 min walk away along the beach front. There is a shop on site selling food, snacks, toys etc. all in all was a great holiday and will return.

We had a gorgeous experience in Jandia Mar Occidental hotel the staff were all friendly , the food was varied and super delicious the rooms also very clean and service very good and what we liked more was the entertainment so big thanks to Noah , all entertainment team and especially Sam : )

We went all inclusive with our two year old for the first time and we had a lovely time. The food each day was varied enough to make each meal different and although not the best we've ever had, it was perfectly fine for us. There were plenty of tables and high chairs as well. We didn't struggle to find sun loungers and all of the pools were lovely. Our room was the perfect size for us, maybe slightly outdated but always clean. We also had a decent shower with a bath which was helpful for our toddler! We were also right next to the playground which we used multiple times. We did try to get a late checkout but we're told that unfortunately it wasn't possible however we didn't have to be out of our room until 12pm so that helped. Please bare in mind that this hotel is at the top of a pretty steep hill so if you want to go to the beach, be prepared for an intense walk back! The only thing that really wasn't great was the WiFi as it dropped in and out constantly and just really didn't work for us. All in all, we had a great time with friendly staff and would recommend this hotel.
