Lovely lunch at the Wheatsheaf today, I had the Tandoori chicken burger from the specials board and hubby had the ploughmans, well presented and fresh tasty food! Can't fault it! Lovely atmosphere with friendly helpful staff! Will definitely be returning

Dropped in for breakfast. Hearty well cooked quality English breakfast for just £8.95 including unlimited tea/coffee served in a refurbished upstairs restaurant. Excellent value and experience. Highly recommended. Well done Wheatsheaf Newport Isle of Wight

We were a group of 8 on a golf weekend, and we chose to stay at the Wheatsheaf Inn in Newport. The location allowed us easy access t the coast and golf courses with just a 20-minute drive. The Inn was truly fantastic, with warm and welcoming hosts, clean rooms and delicious food. The pub downstairs had just the right amount of atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it to anyone seeking accommodation in Newport.

When my girlfriend and I got show the room that we where staying in. There was hair on the sheets, it was clear that the bedding had not been changed since the last guest. Then we looked at the shower and toilet in this hotel, can only be discribed as disgusting, clearly had not been cleaned. With toilet still having stains from the previous guests in it. It was clear that the room had not been cleaned, only the sheets had been made tidy with newish towels put down. The hotel manager offered for us to rebook the room, but moving forward me and my girlfriend will not stay in this hotel again.

Food was very tasty and reasonably priced considering how much everywhere else has put their prices up by recently. A lovely atmosphere as well where you can while away several hours and people watch from the window. I’m sure I will return for another meal in due course.

Found this pub by chance, advertising breakfast, in November, the experience was great. Have continued to visit for last 5 weeks, the high standard has maintained. There is a slight wait, before a fresh piping hot meal arrives. No cheap quality, excellent value for money, also regular coffee/ tea top ups

Came in for some lunch with my mum. Cannot fault the service from whether it was at the bar or at the table. Friendly yet professional. Food was very yummy! I went for the chorizo Brie chicken and mum had the ham tagliatelle! Amazing from start to finish.

Lovely original pub that does quality meals and good selection of drinks. Roaring Fires, Oak Beams. A warm friendly welcome from management and staff and friendly locals. A lovely quality place to have a nice cosy drink or drink and a meal. The current owners Simon and Liam, nice guys and successful businessmen .

Excellent room, clean, comfortable with plenty of character. Food was very good. Selection of traditional homemade pub food plus a few different options. The breakfast was outstanding, great freshly cooked full English. Good size too! Overall good value and comfortable stay in a traditional pub full of character.
