"Stunning view from the third floor .
Dated hotel which is undergoing a 5 year renovation which is desperately in need of .
However can’t take away the view and the history .
Bar is superb and breakfast is one of the finest I have had in many years of travel .
If you want the Ritz this isn’t it but for a short stay in a wonderful throw back in time hotel this could be for you"
"Everything was fine as expected. The TV in the room was tiny, as was the kettle. We visited the Restaurant/bar to have a Latte and a glass of wine but the speciality coffee machine was not working.
The wine ( Zinfandel ) did seem rather expensive at £8.95 for a small glass. The breakfast was good but we thought that a continental breakfast should contain more continental items, rather than just Crossaints, fruit/ meats/cheeses perhaps.
Overall, definitely in the same class as other establishment of the same type and price point that we have stayed in, priced reasonably overall."
KKaren NgJust a leisurely ten-minute stroll from Whitby's beautiful beach, a truly welcoming and comfortable experience. From the moment you arrive, the friendly atmosphere is palpable, making you feel right at home. Owner are happy to accommodate your needs, ensuring you kick off your day just the way you like.
Cosy room with delightful view. Overall, this hotel is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Whitby. Its location, combined with genuinely warm hospitality and comfortable rooms, makes for a memorable stay.
HHomayoonThis accommodation is very well situated in the heart of Whitby. The style of the communal areas are lovely. It was quite clean. The communal terrace is also nice, though spider webs could be found every where around the seats. However, there are some downsides which will prevent me from a second stay at this accommodation, which are the lack of parking, challenge of finding an empty car park nearby, extremely small size of the room and lack of essential amenities. The room is too small and you literally need to jump into the bed and stay there for everything you want to do as there’s not enough space in the room to sit. There’s only one chair in the room which is odd for a two bed room. There are no tables to sit at while two drawers are there, which seem unnecessary. There's no refrigerator. Additionally, the mattress or the extra mattress under the bed, and the pillows smelled bad which was really unpleasant. If they complete the amenities, get some reserved parking spot in the Church St car park and replace the smelly stuff with new ones, this place can turn into a decent place to stay. Thanks.
CCarlosOur staying at the Witching Post Inn could have not been better. Our room was spacious and very confortable. And the place has a lot of personality and history. If you want to know the roots of this place you can speak to the landlord, Pete. But more important Pete makes you feel at home, as you are part of the family. The stories, the jokes and the environment in the pub is so cosy that makes you feel you are between friends. And don't look anywhere else for food and drinks. We had dinner in here during the Parmo night, and the food was fantastic, one of the best we had in the area. And this includes the beer and gins. Also, we vouch for the breakfast, the full breakfast is delicious and we couldn't get enough of it. If you are staying the area, please do yourself a favor and stay at the Witching Post Inn. I am glad we chose this place for our staying, and a big thanks to Pete and all the staff for the lovely and welcoming staying
