Our Lufkin hotel is ideally located on Highway 59 in Lufkin, adjacent to the Crown Colony Country Club, as well as across the street from Angelina College. This was our second stay at this hotel. Came back because we enjoyed everything about our first stay in November and it did not disappoint. We arrived too early for check in but the front desk person was able to get us situated which was much appreciated after a 15 hour drive through the night.

Roaches. Only seen one. But still rather not see any! I requested late check out and Room service still bathed in at 11 without knocking. Very rude when I spoke to her about knocking she just continued to ask when we were checking out.

We come to Lufkin 2x/year for gymnastics meets. This place is the best one we've stayed at so far. Prices are more reasonable than some of the other ones. The staff are nice. There's fresh-fruit-flavored cold water, big chocolate chip cookies, and a cappuccino machine by check in counter. The reception area, hallways, & bedrooms are clean. The only drawback is the small gym with limited equipment & no hand weights. You can do cardio, but impossible to do proper strength training with what they have. We had 2-queen bedrooms. NO CONNECTING ROOMs, although it's noted to be available online. Our bedroom & bathroom were reasonably spacious & stocked with basic toiletries. We really liked the breakfast options. Although the dining room is small, they have more variety of breakfast totems than most places (even the more expensive ones). Here are the list of their breakfast choices:
- hot items: pancake-covered sausage on a stick, scrambled eggs, mini sausages, biscuit & gravy, Texas-shaped Belgian waffle (you make it on site with a waffle maker)
- continental: bread, bagels, prepackaged cinnamon rolls, prepackaged cheese pastry, breakfast bars, prepackaged blueberry muffins.
- fresh fruit: apples, clementines, bananas, blueberries
- others: yogurt, oatmeal, 3 types of cereals, peanut butter, jellies, chocolate chips, butter
- drinks: coffee, milk, non-dairy milk, OJ, apple juice.

If you have no other options like we did it's better than a Motel but not much. Some of the towels in the room were dirty. The room was right by the entrance and was loud. The power in the hotel went out. You could hear the staff complaining.

Construction was inconvenient, my room had areas which needed repair. Perhaps the area should been closed by zones for repairs.

I booked the room just for the jetted tub. Upon getting into the room and filling the tub it was apparent the tub didn’t work. The front desk person came to look with the maintenance man on the phone. Nothing was done and nothing was fixed. I paid $180 just for the use of the tub. Was told I’d receive a discount due to the tub not working and the inconvenience. I received a whopping $20 off. What a joke. It’s just a standard room without the tub but I was charged well over standard rack rate.
