I gave 4/5 stars for location because there are no particular views (it's right in the middle of the town), but the other features more than compensate for this. All the staff we met were very courteous and professional. Meals were traditional and introduced us to many interesting dishes. Onsens were small but since this hotel only has eight room, they are never crowded. Also the onsens are open through the night which I especially appreciated.
ผผู้เข้าพักIt was an amazing stay!
The staff were incredibly friendly, and the natural onsen was wonderful. I even felt like my skin improved during our few days there. We were initially a bit worried because two people in our group have tattoos, but it wasn’t a problem at all (as long as the tattoos are covered and not too large). They even sell cover stickers at the reception (220 yen per sticker, size 10 × 20 cm), which was very convenient. Both the indoor and outdoor onsen areas were beautiful and very relaxing.
Even though the rooms were traditional Japanese style and it was quite cold outside during our winter visit, the rooms were kept comfortably warm. The futons were super comfortable and we all slept very well.
One thing to keep in mind though, is that the ryokan is about a 30-minute walk from the train station. It’s also a good idea to bring cash, as credit cards may not be accepted. That said, the town itself is quiet and charming. On the way to the station, you pass a lovely river with mountains in the background.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would happily come back again!
