The Asa Maia is such a wonderful place to stay that we stayed there once in February and again in March. I would highly recommend. First of all, I think Uluwatu is the best area to stay in all of Bali. It is not nearly as crowded as the other well known locations, has beautiful beaches, great restaurants and an overall good vibe. The Asa Maia is ideally located and an easy walk to many areas of interest. The staff is exceptional from the owner to the gardeners. Great care has been taken to make this place special. Morning and afternoon yoga, amazing restaurant overlooking the pool, contrast therapy (cold plunge), infrared sauna, breath work, massage, etc. The communal table makes it easy to get to know others guests if you like. I could go on and on, but this is one of the best places we have ever stayed.
We have recently returned from a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable 10 night vacation at Vivara Private Pool Villas & Spa Retreat in Jimbaran, Bali. Our aim was to get away from our busy life and take a complete break. The resort comprises 48 beautiful, private, self-contained pool villas, most of which are one or two-bedroom. Each villa is like your own home-away-from home, with pool decking and lounges, an alfresco kitchen bungalow (with a daily replenishment of non-alcoholic drinks in the mini bar), outdoor rain shower and bathroom, and a spacious bedroom with lounge area. It is clear that the resort aims to make every guest’s experience as comfortable as possible. As we were so comfortable in our villa, we were determined not to become complete ‘holiday recluses’ and, despite room service being the option for many of the guests, we always walked to the poolside restaurant for breakfast each morning, afternoon tea every second day, before feasting on a fabulous evening dining experience on alternate evenings. Needless to say, we did not leave Vivara hungry! The resort is like a small community, and staff are more than happy to transport you to and from your villa using golf buggies, or you can take advantage of the communal bikes and scooters and ride around the resort pathways. Additionally, a complimentary shuttle service to and from Jimbaran Beach is available, and times are customised to guests, creating a very personalised and welcome service. Being a spa retreat, we indulged in five deep tissue massages each, and they were a highlight of our stay. The private bungalows are built in a traditional Balinese style, are quiet and calming, and the masseuses provided a comfortable, relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Thank you, so much. The heart of the resort, though, is the staff. They were all, without exception, incredibly friendly, helpful, and always keen to converse and learn about their guests, or share their insights into Bali. We cannot recommend the Vivara staff highly enough. Thank you, Keke, and all your staff, for making our stay so enjoyable. We loved being immersed in the Balinese style of the resort, and Vivara did not disappoint as the ideal place for us to unwind and relax. We have no hesitation in recommending Vivara to any visitors searching for the same experience.

THE BEST OF THE BEST. Komaneka is pure paradise. I'm 59yrs who has travelled to 35 countries and covered 20 States in the USA, so I have stayed in a lot of hotels. Komaneka at Keramas Beach was amazing. Their attention to detail was faultless. We stayed for 30 days and the quality of service did not slip once throughout our stay. The Komaneka's philosophy is to welcome you in as if you are family, but this is a big understatement. We were treated like Royalty for the whole stay. Every member of staff knew our names as we met them for the first time. All the staff greeted us when passing anywhere on the grounds, from the maintenance, cleaners to the restaurant teams. They worked constantly cleaning, sweeping and pruning all the lush tropical vegetation that surrounds the complex. The villas are perfectly designed, so nobody overlooks you from any angle or direction, giving complete privacy. They are equipped with big walk in showers and separate free standing baths. Big walk in wardrobe/dressing area and large comfortable beds. We had a view of the sea from our bedroom at the front and a view over the rice fields from our private infinity pool at the back. The onsite restaurant had an extensive breakfast and all day dining menu. We also visited 4 outside restaurants within a short walk along the beach to the east. Komaneka is positioned directly on the beach at Keramas. It has volcanic black sand that sparkles like diamonds in the sun and moon light, its totally magical. Komaneka is 45 minutes taxi drive to town of Ubud to the north and 45 minutes to the city of Denpasar. It was a perfectly secluded retreat for me to escape my busy life in the city of London. The spa treatments were excellent with easily to book availability. The warm swimming pool was an impressive 33 mtrs long. The management have pieced together a wonderful respectful team. I truly believe that most top London hotels should send their staff to Komaneka for training. The best of the best. SUKSMA.
ผผู้เข้าพักAbsolutely loved our stay at Segara. Initially I booked 1 night at Segara and 3 Rimba, we moved to Rimba after our night at Segara and did 1 night there and didn’t like Rimba at all. Rimba looks nice on entry but the rooms and long dark corridors made it very cold and stark. Luckily we were able to move back to Segara, it too a little work with the reception at Segara as they we’re seeing on their system that the room at Segara was more expensive but I was able to prove the discount rate they had on Instagram and they moved us back. My room was $500 aud at Segara and $700 Rimba absolutely ridiculous price for what Rimba is a cold hotel style building. The staff were all very friendly at Segara. The resort is so much nicer than it looks in photos. It’s very sophisticated, stylish but still very warm and inviting. The entry to the room is from outside in the beautiful sunshine not down a dark corridor, then opens up to a beautiful room, so welcoming and nicely decorated. We really felt at home here. Breakfast at Segara was fantastic, the restaurant is just beautiful, the best restaurant we had breakfast in on our holiday. So stylish and elegant but still has a Bali feel. It’s quiet and not a mad noisy food court like Rimba, definitely don’t recommend trying breakfast at Rimba it’s just like a big chain hotel and food court vibe breakfast area. The pool area downstairs at Segara was very relaxing. Lots of seating and areas out in the sun or under the verandah. The Scusa restaurant downstairs is absolutely beautiful. The design, the food and staff 10/10 we went every night for dinner, I really miss being able to go here it’s definitely a must if you go to Ayana and even worth travelling too. Cant rate it high enough! Our stay at Segara was definitely my favourite out of all the resorts we visited, it’s just so beautiful, very classy and sophisticated but true to Bali style still but on a more modern level. Definitely a great couples hotel or with older children, I had my 12 year old daughter with me. It’s not really a kid friendly resort, Rimba is more set up for families and small children, lots more pools and kids pool etc. it’s a nice quiet relaxing resort. We did venture out to the other pools around Ayana each day and down to Kubu beach for sunset, the cocktails were the best down there! My only gripe is the cost. $500 aud a night! Bali has got so overpriced now and that was on sale the normal price was around $800 I would definitely not pay over $500 to stay here so I hope we get it on sale next year. We stayed at the 2 Padma hotels which are both beautiful and we’re $350 a night and a villa in Canggu also beautiful and in a great area for $450 a night. Ayana is in a more secluded spot, we didn’t leave the hotel area, it is expensive, our room at Rimba was $700 aud for a lagoon suite thank god I only did one night here way too expensive for what you get here and I couldn’t wait to get out of that room and hotel - ridiculously overp
ผผู้เข้าพักThis resort is beyond words! It is so unexpectedly and beautifully nestled in the middle of the rainforest with a rushing creek below with a surrounding village of the most welcoming and kindest people. The sounds (water flow/birds/roosters/crickets) and smells and views and walkways to the villa style rooms are so unique and the service is incredible. Infinity pools and hottub so amazing. Yoga instructor Putu was so awesome! It is very clear that he loves what he does and he is very good at it. He makes all participants beginner to advanced feel welcome and enjoy the morning session. Private sessions can alao be arranged for the very advanced. The entire resort is a feast for the eyes and even better than the pictures and videos on the website. The spa is also incredible. There are an endless list of things to see and do in the local area as well but so nice to come back to an oasis of relaxation. I highly recommend this resort and would return without a second thought.
ผผู้เข้าพักOur third stay at Dwaraka was just as amazing as before. This small boutique hotel is stunning. The staff cannot do enough for you. The hotel is situated just outside Ubud. We walked into Ubud centre easily but wouldn’t do it in the dark due to the lack of street lights and pavements. But the hotel run a complimentary shuttle service or a taxi is cheap. There are a few good restaurants close by. We stayed in a pool villa looking over the small rice fields. The villa is very big and very beautiful as is the garden and pool. We felt really spoiled and privileged to be staying in such a wonderful villa. We have also stayed in one of the regular rooms on a previous visit. These are lovely too and also very big with wonderful views from the large balcony. There are two gorgeous shared pools and you have them almost to yourself. They close one off for you if you want to have a floating breakfast. Breakfast is fantastic. We only had a couple of meals in the restaurant. We found the food quite expensive compared to similar restaurants in the area, although not the drinks. The food was good depending on what you choose. The local dishes were probably the best. The private romantic BBQ was fabulous. We booked direct with the hotel and took the package which included an airport pick up, hour long massage for two and a private romantic BBQ dinner. All in all fantastic value and difficult to beat. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Dwaraka and can’t wait to return. Thank you to the wonderful staff who know how to treat their guests.
ผผู้เข้าพักOur stay at Puri Sebali Resort was an unforgettable experience, elevated to an extraordinary level by not just Lanti, but the entire team. From the moment we set foot on the property, we were enveloped in a welcoming atmosphere that carried through our entire four-night stay. Lanti was instrumental in orchestrating my proposal to my girlfriend. Her attention to detail and her ability to capture the essence of what we wanted was exceptional. However, she was far from a one-woman show. The entire team at Puri Sebali worked seamlessly to ensure that everything was perfect—from the reservations team who handled our booking with grace, to the ground staff who always greeted us with a smile. They organised every detail including a photographer for the occassion. The culinary team deserves a special mention as well. The food was consistently excellent, adding another layer of enjoyment to our stay. Everyone at the resort took immense pride in their roles, and their collective efforts created a truly magical environment. We spent most of our time by the infinity pool, which felt like a slice of heaven, thanks to the incredible view of the river terraces across from the resort. To Lanti and the entire team at Puri Sebali Resort, thank you for making our stay, and especially the proposal, a dream come true. Your collective efforts have created memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. We highly recommend Puri Sebali Resort for anyone looking for an exceptional holiday experience, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.
ผผู้เข้าพักThe location was in a very scenic spot, it was quiet, and didn't get much rain while the rest of Bali got more rain, so I was very happy. The only problem is that its a 2-3 hour drive from the airport with a lot of winding around corners and going up and down hills - true torture for someone like me that gets carsick. People just need to be prepared for the drive, but it's worth it. If you're the type of traveler that wants nightlife and partying, then stick close to the airport in Denpasar instead. If you want a relaxing beach vacation like me (still plenty of alcohol at the beach bar), then this is your place.
The food was absolutely superb for lunch and dinner! The breakfast was average, more western style, but maybe I'm biased because I'm not a breakfast person anyways. You can always just sleep in and go for lunch. The pizzeria's pizza was perfection, and all other menu foods I tried, I loved.
The service was great, everyone was very kind and helpful. On my last night when I was feeling too ill to eat, the restaurant staff made a free pot of tea for me and I was so grateful. The resort also called a doctor for me, which I didn't even know was an option, and I was so grateful.
Lastly, the resort was stunning! Everything made of stone felt so safe and clean, everything was family friendly, there's two beautiful pools, and the beach was unparalleled. The beach bar & restaurant was perfectly situated so you can watch both the sunset and the sunrise and you can relax while your kids or friends play. Lots of outdoor space to relax, and the resort provided a free shuttle service to nearby places. There was even a gift shop that also sold sunscreen and aloe vera. And the accommodations! The bed was wonderful, the room was spacious, all amenities provided, and the shower was wonderful.
GGmvgChose this place as it was not in a very touristic part of Bali. The room I had was beautiful with outdoor bathroom + shower, the staff was very nice and has tour + spa services they offer with extra fee.
Beware of the tours, if you exceed the hours it's supposed to last, you'll pay extra! I wasn't made aware of that which was a major disappointment. Besides the driver was adorable and made adjustments for me to enjoy as much as possible.
Other bummer: the resort is close to a pig farm so there is an unpleasant smell and horrible screams for a couple of hours per day.
