Almond Beach Resort at Jaguar Reef

Had a greg time with family and made some new friends! The staff is very helpful and cool. Captain Larry and Denton make you feel at home and protected, Bruno and Denis will make nice drinks and Suzie, Xhalene and Kira will make sure your room is in order and things are going as they should for you. I really appreciated all of their customer service … thanks guys!

We had an amazing time at Almond Beach resort! We had the beachfront cottage and our friends stayed in the Colonial penthouse. We enjoyed our outdoor shower and the privacy, although they had a nice balcony and bathtub. Beautiful beach, pools, and how can I forget CAPTAIN LARRY! He is the best! You will get to know him very quickly and he makes great local recommendations.

Can't say enough about our stay at the Belize Collection in February of 2024. The entire staff were lovely. Our room was clean and a perfect size. The location is second to none and the Big Dock make such a fun spot to hang with the kiddos. Captain Larry has made a name for himself and rightly so. He is engaging, friendly and helpful. We hope to make it back to Jaguar Reef / Almond Beach soon as we had a fantastic family vacation.

We stayed for 5 nights and 6 glorious days! It was the staff at Almond Beach and the entire Jaguar Reef properties that made our stay amazing! Upon check in at Jaguar Reef (this is the check in area for all the collection of properties next to each other, like the Colonial, Almond Beach and others), we were so kindly greeted by Malcom, Vern, Modesty and the extremely gracious Gianni. These staff members made us feel like VIP’s and the entire resort was waiting for our arrival. After check in we got requested to sit in the spacious main dining room lounge area for a commentary welcome refreshing beverage (we did not elect the all inclusive), so this came as a surprise. We stayed in the Craboo room which was perfect for our family of 4 with our 2 adult children. It was actually two separate rooms with a large shared bath and an outdoor private jacuzzi tub under the trees on the 2nd floor (see in photos). The trip only got better. While working to set up excursions, Will and Greg were amazingly helpful!! They both would see us on the property and share additional pearls regarding our booked excursions for the days ahead, like getting us into an earlier snorkel trip because a family had cancelled or our Belize Collection shuttle being a private van just for us because another family had a change of plans. The snorkel trip with Captain Alex, first mates Nele and Alexander was outstanding! Alex was amazing captain in some very challenging seas on the 35 min ride to the snorkel location. On our Monkey River excursion, Cipriano was our Belize Collection shuttle driver. We basically spent the entire day with him! He was so accommodating! Again, we felt like VIP’s at this property. He dropped us off right at the boat and had the van cooled down and waiting for us as we debarked from the boat several hours later. It was amazing! We actually enjoyed the ride from the property and return with Cipriano more than the actual Monkey River boat tour! When we were at the resort relaxing, the service staff was extremely accommodating! At the dock bar upstairs, Brandon and Irwin made us feel so welcome. Jerry at the Almond Beach pool bar made our special requests seem less. Tim in the main dining room was also a welcome face to see!! Last but hardly not least!!! The famous Captain Larry!! Not sure if the visitors know, but Captain Larry won the Trip Advisors #1 Customer Service Award this past year for all of Belize!!! Yes right at this small resort property, Captain Larry brought home the TripAdvisor Gold!! We had to take a picture with him before we departed, see in photos in front of the resort. He truly made our trip and brought a smile to our faces every time we would cross paths on the property. He is the true beach captain of the Jaguar Reef collection and the resort is lucky to have him as a member of the staff!

We a absolutely love staying here. Everyone was very friendly and Daniel kept our area of the beach, looking very nice, and as a hard worker.. we stayed in the cottage rooms and had our own private beachfront. The food in this area is also amazing. We felt very safe at our stay.

We stayed here for 5 nights after 5 in the jungle. Everything is perfect. Service, cleanliness, atmosphere, grounds. Kaptain Larry, Jerry at Charlie's bar and our snorkel tour guide Dennis are the best. So helpful. I recommend the beach cottages. Great stay. Will return in 2025.

Wasn’t sure what to expect besides warm weather and a beach getaway while it’s still cold back home but out trip was fabulous. The resort is beautiful with tasty food abundantly available (even late night with smores that brought a smile to many faces). Captain Larry kept everybody entertained and would do anything for you. The resort offers all kinds of excursions. We did a local chocolate experience and had a great time. Our driver Victor even provided us with water and bug spray. The resort has golf carts for rental but we could never find one not being used. No matter because the resort had at least 20 bikes to ride into town with. Amazing food in town and the locals treated us great. There are security guards always present making sure you have a great experience. Really debated between 4 or 5 stars. Only negative comment would be the excessive resort tax on every purchase.

Daniel, Juan and his son Elias (Mateo) did as wonderful job with the beach grooming and grounds keeping. Vernet spoiled us with wonderful room service. Chef Bol made amazing meals daily. the desk staff always was there for any needs we may have, including extra aloe for our sunburns. Captain Larry kept us laughing daily and always enjoyed his chats. The resort was clean and we loved the Anona room! the entire staff was friendly and always a pleasure.

This is our third trip to Jaguar Reef/ Almond Beach and we absolutely love it. The staff is all great but Larry is the best! He is always finding coconuts for our 5 year old and making sure we have everything we need. Bartenders are great and the new pizza place is delicious. Will the guy that handles excursions was nice. Dinner staff was excellent, although the kitchen was a bit slow. You also have to make dinner reservations now, they have two seatings 5.30 & 7PM. Last year we could always get a seat and didn’t need to reserve, you could also come at any time which we liked better. My hubby loves the whole snapper they serve for lunch. We did an awesome excursion to Silk Caye and it was amazing. Highly recommend! They were way more busy this year than last. They have built up the property a lot in a year. Maybe a little too fast? There were some power and water issues this trip. We just love Jaguar Reef!
