Why this place not a 5-star we really don't understand! The Argyle is one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. The level of service and friendliness of the staff is simply outstanding. The grounds are so tasteful. A quiet oasis with gorgeous views of Adam's Peak and surrounding landscape. The staff made it their business to know everything about their guests' whereabouts. We came back from Adam's Peak at noon after a very long (but fantastic) night – of course breakfast was long over. But they had a table in the restaurant ready for us and we could ask for whatever we wanted for a late breakfast. Later that evening, different staff in the restaurant asked us if we were still tired from the night's activities – and even the next day more staff asked about it. We had a Bruce room with balcony; the room was really tasteful, the website photos do not do it justice. The shower was great. The view from the balcony is just stunning – Adam's Peak in the background and wonderful sunsets. The day we arrived we had a room service lunch – a Sri Lankan dish – and it was gorgeous. The restaurant is nice – not too big and not too cold from the aircon as in so many other places. The temperature was just right. We felt totally spoiled during our stay and really did not want to leave. We've love to come back.

Fabulous boutique hotel. Staff all extremely attentive and eager to please. Spacious room with beautiful view over tea country. Food excellent. High tea was a fabulous experience. There is a walk around the area that is signposted all the way.

Lovely hotel with wonderful carding staff. Small hotel with fabulous location in the centre of the tea plantations. We had a small problem with our room so we’re moved immediately to another room with a glorious view near the pool great place to relax. The food was more limited as it’s only a small hotel. But definitely enough selection. Friendly helpful and attentive staff.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at the Argyle. The room was excellent with views over the tea plantation. The restaurant was very good, and there was a good choice of both Sri Lankan and western cuisine. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and took great care to ensure that everything was to our liking. We spent quite a lot of time travelling around the area, and so were unable to take full advantage of the excellent facilities at the Argyle, although the pool was very welcoming after long walks through the plantation. We have no hesitation in recommending the Argyle to anyone travelling to this part of Sri Lanka.

On our tour of Sri Lanka, this has been our favourite hotel for 5* comfort and service. Situated on a hillside overlooking tea plantations with mountains in the distance, this modern boutique hotel is truly impressive from the luxurious rooms with balcony overlooking the pool area to the wonderful variety of food available in the restaurant. The staff are very well trained, but friendly and courteous. We enjoyed an excellent 2 night stay and just wish it had been longer.

Totaly reccomend. Very warm welcome from ALL staff, mr. Vit****ash helped us with all requests (had one ill in the group, he helped get the doctor & medicine). Rooms are spatious, bathroom large & clean. Every detail was taken care of (gardeners, fitness, pool), dinner & breakfast almost a la carte (enough menus to choose from) !

I’ve just had the best massage ever, the rain wouldn’t stop so it seemed a good thing to do. The team on duty are so friendly and caring, Dimuthy , Geetha and a special big thank you to the wonderful Nimosha, she was excellent doing my massage. A really lovely hotel in a stunning location. It was a real shame that the poor weather prevented us exploring the surrounding area . Everyone of the staff were so polite and couldn’t do enough for us both. The room was beautiful and the 4 poster bed made for an amazing stay. We were kindly offered an upgrade to a suite but our room was too lovely to leave. It h as to be the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in. I’m pretty sure the staff were waiting for a leaf to fall so they could catch it and effect the perfection. We loved the high tea The only thing was guests which would have added to the ambiance. Maybe with more guests there could have been greater choice in the good menu.

We have been wanting to visit Argyle for a while now but never got the chance and we finally made it in April. And my god it was an awesome stay. Loved every bit of it. The view was breathtaking and with the heated pool it was a plus with our little one. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom had all the amenities needed for our stay. The food was mouthwateringly delicious. The buffet selection for all three meals were spectacular. Hats off to the Executive chef for curating and awesome selection. And to mention again it was yummy. The staff overall was very good. From the reception staff to the servers at the restaurant to the staff around, everyone was so friendly and so accommodating to our needs. Special mention about the staff at the restaurant Pasindu, Isuru and Thiyagaraj. Their service was exceptional and was friendly with our little one and assisted us with all our needs. We will definitely be visiting again specifically for the food and the great hospitality given to us.
