We have stayed in many Residence Inn but this one is below par. The building is a little run down and seems a bit neglected. Staff seems disinterested. First morning the complimentary breakfast was a joke. At least 25 people lined up, all the food containers empty, when a staff member came to “refill” the food, he came with about 7 bacon slices and 8 hashbrowns, By the third guest in line it was all empty again. Also no forks to eat with - just knives and spoons. The housekeeping was even worse than the breakfast. The first day they didn’t come at all. The second day, they came but only made one of the two beds in the room (never seen that before!). No sweeping or vacuuming, no wiping bathroom counters, just made one of the two beds…very bizarre. The beds were very noisy (squeaky) and bouncy and the outside noise from the street made it hard to sleep. This Residence Inn unfortunately does a bit of damage to the brand.
Nice staff and rooms good with large kitchen and bathroom. Pretty much what you expect from Homewood Suites. Comfortable couch and good wifi. Breakfast was included with a limited selection which was reasonable, but a zoo with unruly kids running all over the place. Didn’t bother taking in breakfast the second day as a result. We did enjoy the Wed evening snacks reception in the lobby area. I probably wouldn’t stay here again as it is located way up a steep hill and on the edge of downtown (although if you are not going into the harbour/downtown area then not an issue). Hard to drag my tired feet up the hill at the end of a day and then do it again after dinner.
At this Marriott Hotel you will not find a traditional front desk, we replaced that with a check-in at the bar where your first drink - our signature cocktail is included in your rate. An interactive lounge and library which set the tone for a social, playful, and fun experience. Our rooms are full of colors, little surprises and big delights like walk-in showers, open wall closets and plenty of space for our furry friends. We offer all the modern conveniences you expect such as smart technology, furiously fast free Wi-Fi, TVs equipped with streaming services and a comfy place to relax and recharge. You can enjoy hand-crafted drinks along with a menu of shareable plates at the bar and a Grab and Go section is available 24/7 to satisfy your cravings. Our downtown Halifax hotel is the first Moxy in Canada - is minutes from Scotiabank Center, Halifax Convention Centre, art galleries, shops, dining, waterfront, and nightlife.

Let me start off by saying that Moxy is not your typical hotel. A little research into the name would tell you that. This boutique style hotel was excellent. From check in, to check out, encountered friendly and helpful staff. I spent 4 nights here and would stay again in a heart beat. The beds were super comfortable. I had a great sleep each night. Rooms are small but that’s why it is a boutique style. Love the decor. Checkin was easy and done right at the bar where I was given a complimentary cocktail. Lots of fun activities going on throughout the weekend. Charicatures, DJ, Foosball table, PacMan arcade game all in the lobby. Secure underground parking well worth the fee. Food in the restaurant was great. Lots to choose from. Sunday night was “GameNight’” so got to spin the wheel for one of many prizes. Stay here and you are sure to have a good time!
Would rate the front desk staff a 8 out of 10 due to the lack of concern about one of the staff. Housekeeping very friendly and helpful and cleaned up when we only ask that our garbage been taken out. Room was very comfortable When the phone wasn't working one of the young front desk staff came up and took immediate charge and fixed the problem. We were looking forward to using the ”hot tub” but who ever is responsible for the hotel's web site should delete the hot tub picture s it hasn't been there, per front desk staff, at least 10 years. The fitness room only has 2 out of 4 of the stationary and Eliptical bike working. Gave up after mentioning it to the front desk staff on two occasions. Had a nice washroom with safety bars, but would suggest bringing a safety mat and there were no safety *****s in the tub. Surprisingly I found out the hotel did not have a liquor licemce so I had to go to another hotel for some ”brown pops' on New Year's eve.
KKasey FVery clean, new and updated. Comfy beds. Amazing service. I am always greeted and thanked for being IHG member. This is the best service I have received from a hotel In the Halifax area. I will continue to come back time and time again. Great breakfast, great stocked little market for treats and cool water park for the kids
LLuu Phuong LanI recently stayed at Sandman Signature hotel and couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming, making check-in a breeze. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated
ผผู้เข้าพักIt was a good stay. The tv stations available were the poorest selection that I’ve seen. They also charged my credit card despite having paid in advance through the app. They did let me stay an hour later to accommodate a meeting. The location and view (ask for lake view) was amazing.
The room was surprisingly large with a queen bed, sofa, small dining table and kitchenette. The grounds are lovely and a Tim Hortons is within walking distance. It's about a 30 minute drive from the city center of Halifax, but the other hotels in the city were either booked or way over our budget at the time due to multiple events going on.
We stayed here on the last night of our Nova Scotia trip because we wanted to be close to the airport. The rooms are beautiful. The check in process was kind of informal- we just had to go down to the bar and find a certain person, and paid her right then on a portable card reader. The reservation was done through email. It was kind of warm, as only one of the bedrooms had an a/c unit, and we didn't notice it at night. FYI, it's above the window and the remote is inside the desk! We stayed in the Thomas Suite, which has two bedrooms. It's on the top floor. I think the other rooms are smaller. There is a common area on the second floor where the coffee maker and microwave are. They had a few board games, a fireplace, couch and a balcony. There was cold water in glass decanters in the fridge, and all the glassware was chilled in the fridge as well. There was yogurt and juice in the common room fridge, and our breakfast consisted of muffins, fruit, and granola bars. It was noisy until the restaurant closed, but after that it was pretty quiet. The one drawback was getting there. It is on a busy road (we arrived at rush hour), and there is only one way in and out. The parking lot is kind of small, but there were a couple of spaces when we got there. Also, when we came in off the highway, our GPS instructed us to turn left at the stop sign, which was next to impossible. I gave up and turned right, and there is a roundabout about a block that way where you can make a U-turn.
