Rixos Premium Dubrovnik offers you an unforgettable holiday experience in a region rich in historical, cultural and natural beauties. Dubrovnik, on Croatia's stunning Dalmatian Coast, is known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic". Rixos Premium Dubrovnik, a luxury lifestyle hotel, is located close to the Old Town of Dubrovnik and with its impressive exterior design that cascades down to the sea, the hotel represents the ultimate blend of modern architecture and luxurious sophisticated interior design.
As many of the other reviews state this hotel is not in the old city - it is a 20min walk (about 2km) down to the old city, which in the heat of the midday sun can be an issue for some, particularly if you are trekking uphill back to the hotel. The best alternative option is to catch the #4 bus from the Pile Gate and then get off on the 4th stop which is 100m away from the hotel (4min bus ride). There are not a large number of reasonable restaurants close by and the on-premises Bosnian restaurant (Taj Mahal) cannot be booked to the room. It is a mid-range hotel built in the 1970s, so it does have an older feel. It is not that large, with just over 150 rooms but larger than the boutique hotels we were used to staying it on our Croatian trip. We stayed in one of their classic rooms - without any view (unless you count the adjoining building as a view). The double bed was just two single beds pushed together, which meant disappearing down the crevice in-between regularly during the night. I'd suggest booking a superior room, which are larger, more modern, in the newer wing of the hotel and include a bathtub. The Wi-Fi was easy to access and relatively fast. The air conditioning only be turned on when the room key was inserted, which meant, dependent on the room orientation, you could come back to a warm room which might take some time to cool down. They only supplied one bottle of water for entire stay, which they could easily address. The swimming pool is fairly small, almost always in shade and can only be accessed via the lobby (doesn't have any change facilities by the pool). We arrived in the morning, well before the 2pm check-in, and whilst they stored our luggage and offered us use of the pool whilst we waited there really wasn't anywhere to get changed and take up the offer. The breakfast, included in the room tariff, was a reasonable quality with a relatively choice of options however it didn't vary at all during our five-day stay. The lobby/foyer can get congested at times when larger tour groups arrive, with all their luggage in tow. The staff were polite and endeavoured to help us where they could. Not my favourite accommodation in Croatia but serviceable for what we needed.
This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! The hotel staff, especially kudos to Mara Kacic, the Guest Relations and Duty Manager who was so personally helpful to my needs as a handicapped guest as well as all other staff members were friendly, professional and eager to assist. The hotel is decorated with old world elegant charm. The room rate included a full delicious breakfast buffet as well as a menu for other items not on the buffet such as omelettes and French Toast. There was an outdoor patio where we enjoyed breakfast as well as indoor seating. The bar area also served light fare. The location of the hotel was great as it was a short walk to the Pile Gate of Old Town Dubrovnik and all of its history and grandeur. As a person who used a mobility scoote, navigating the nearby street to get to the Pile Gate was a challenge as there was NO CUTOUTS in the sidewalks to get from the hotel to the Pile Gate. This was in no way the fault of the hotel but rather of the city itself who has not adopted any handicapped accessible features whatsoever. But we managed by lifting my scooter down or up the curbs to get where we wanted to be. I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone wanting a very special experience in Dubrovnik.
We stayed at the Royal Neptun for 1 week, it is 1 of 3 hotels forming a complex - Neptun is a 4 star and the other 2, 5 star and we could definitely see the difference. The highs, the location is outstanding, the walk along the promenade to the bars and restaurants, superb. The roof top bar and pool, amazing place to have drinks and watch the sunset, the pizzas in ‘on the rocks bar’ yummy, food and setting in Zoe was well worth the money, and the massage in the spa was one of the best I’ve had. So why only 3 stars: we checked in, other guests checking in were offered support with their luggage which we weren’t, maybe only for the 5 star, we didn’t mind but just noticeable. We walked into our room, first sight clean and tidy but then started to notice the red and white stains on the carpet, broken shower and safe, bathroom door sort of fixed. Breakfast was not a pleasant experience at all, it is not big enough for the size of the hotel, lots and lots of people walking around looking for tables, no management overseeing the flow of customers, staff moral appeared low, no one was smiling, would pass and not acknowledge you, when trying to attract attention it was like they looked through you and go in a different direction. Food ran out very quickly, all meats, cheeses etc were not covered and I could see the flies landing on it, the queue for omelettes was at least 10mins so big gathered all around where other guests were trying to eat. Pool area, as this is a family hotel was really surprised to see glass being used, 1 time were saw a glass break and a little boy cut his foot and second a wine glass broke and the stem ended up in the pool - no one was asked to leave whilst it was cleaned. This hotel has the making of amazing place to stay so hoping this feedback will help make the tweaks it’s needs.
Good hotel in the port area. Easy access downtown, bus stop at 20m and several buses to take you to the old town. Room was spacious and comfortable but black curtains were not so black and light came thru early in the morning. Shower's floor was extremely slippery and had to put towels on it to prevent us from sliding. Breakfast is buffet, expensive, children at 12 pay like an adult and it is not that abundant, not many choices. Several places in the area where you can have a nice coffee though. Overall It was OK.
Loved these apartments. We stayed in a 2 bed as 2 couples. Very spacious with good facilities. Comfortable beds, good showers. Great air conditioning. Greeted on arrival by a friendly lady who directed us into the small car park. She gave us some info about Dubrovnik and took us to check in. We were given a bottle of their lovely red wine as a welcome gift. The location is up lots of hills and steps from the old town. Which we didn’t mind as like to walk. Maybe not so good if mobility issues. The swimming pool is a nice addition, it is a little too high in Chlorine ( I have my own so I’m used to managing the chemicals). At one point during our stay we had an issue with ants in a kitchen cupboard. Don’t leave any open food items as this should avoid it. We cleared them out and that seemed to sort it. I’d recommend these apartments for a home from home whilst visiting beautiful Dubrovnik.
LLaura VWe booked this trip wanting it to be more of a holiday than a city break which it absolutely was! There is a bus stop 4 mins walk away from the hotel which takes you into Dubrovnik only 15 mins at most! I am not usually one to leave reviews but we have been truly blown away by the customer service in this hotel from every single member of staff, but a special shoutout to the staff who work in the “On The Rocks” beach bar / restaurant because you are all so so friendly! Everywhere is so clean, the spa is absolutely lovely & the location is perfect! We never had a bad meal or negative experience and we cannot wait to come back again, it was everything we needed for the perfect little reset so thank you all so much and we can’t wait to come back!
