Easy check in and out. Room was ok, not a fan of Building 7: The music from the bar was disturbing to sleep. I would have liked to have been informed of this when checking in. Should I have to stay again at the Holiday Inn, I will request a different building.
So let me start by saying this was probably my 17th or 18th visit to this hotel. I was there in February and the construction was much less. The construction was a bit much this time. The noise is not constant and the vibe without Gilligans is very weird to me. Probably the most bothersome, was the fact that you cannot walk directly across the street so the idea of the location of the Hilton being so wonderful kind of gets ruined. the beach was beautiful and uncrowded, another reason I love the Hilton so much. We were very disappointed that bingo is not for money anymore. It is now free but to me even if it was for less money it would be much more fun. It is something that I always look forward to doing each day while I am on the property. We stayed at the Palm Beach club level-I cannot say enough wonderful things about the new area it is in. The service was impeccable. I was extremely disappointed that Matilda was transferred downstairs-she was such a wonderful employee in the Palm Beach club and she is greatly missed. Other guests that have frequented the Palm Beach club before also said they are missing Matilda also known as the queen. While we were disappointed that she was not there we did get wonderful service from Afroze, Erma, Kim, and others. The club now has its own chef, Terrick Sommerville, his food was incredible. What a great addition!!! I also must mention Marielle Smeets, her service and accommodating us for the palapas was wonderful. The new manager Jen was also wonderful helping us fix our reservation.
Happy 40th Anniversary to us, and the Aruba courtyard Marriott did not disappoint. A few shoutouts to Sanne at the front desk with her making us feel special and getting us the best room for us and answering all our questions. Shoutouts to Bartender/Breakfast Janice, what a delight she was, like we were family, Danielo also was a big teddy bear with the nicest smile, always checking in on our table. Adrian, our pool guy, towels, floats and cabanas, just his energy and smile was awesome. Luis, my husband's coffee guy, always restocking any coffee needs for my husbands' 2 year sobriety vice since the tragic loss of our 32 year old son 3 years ago. We didn't think we could vacation again and be happy. Aruba and the Marriott did it for us. Very comfortable beds, huge showers and plenty of room for the two of us. The large golfcart outside the front to shuttle to the beach across the street, which is definitely walkable. At the beach they have chairs towels and water for us. Also a 10 minute walk to downtown and very safe and clean ,where shops and restaurants were. WE hope to be back.
This was our second visit to Aruba and this time we decided to stay at Radisson Blu. We made a good choice. The hotel itself is very nice with really lovely pool areas (including an adults only infinity pool). The staff were helpful and pleasant. Location is good with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. It’s only a 5 minute walk to Palm Beach but if you don’t fancy the walk Radisson provide a little shuttle to take you there and pick you up again. Beach chairs and umbrellas were plentiful when we went. It’s an all-suite hotel, they were spacious with a kitchenette, large living area and a good sized balcony. We particularly liked that there was plenty of hanging space and storage. Our room was cleaned daily by the housekeeping team who were very good. It was low season while we were there and every day the pool areas were quiet which was lovely and relaxing. There are also two resident cats which were nice to see every day (although they didn’t want to be petted). If we had to pick up on anything it would be that the plumbing needs improvement. Our bathroom sink refused to drain properly most days which was slightly annoying. However I would certainly stay here if ever we are lucky enough to visit Aruba again.
Hotel location and landscaping are outstanding.
Close to all exterior and beach restaurants.
Pools are nice and night swim feels good since the water is warm.
The only negative point is thhe breakfast(so so basic for a 5 star hotel like Hyatt)
