We stopped at Salagardos Palm Village Apartments in early March, as part of a group of 12 ,the weather was the worst I’ve experienced on a golf trip which didn’t help matters, the complex itself is dated with no amenities close by,the rooms are spacious and ok but very dark we looked out on to the pool area which wasn’t very appealing, the staff at the hotel were very helpful, the food in the restaurant is plentiful and decent but it is served on cold plates, you have to put the plates in the microwave to warm them up before putting your food on and this solved the problem, the bar on site is like a works canteen and the drinks are of poor quality but as they say you get what you pay for. If you’re on a budget this is the resort for you, but personally I’d rather pay a bit more, we played golf at Alamos , Margado and Salgardos the later course been the best in my opinion but like I said at the beginning the weather was poor and made the golf every difficult in 25 to 30 mph wind and heavy rain showers.I much prefer Vilamoura as a base and to visit different restaurants on an evening and visit a couple of bars afterwards and the golf courses are close at hand including the Old Course which is always special.
