It’s a lovely hotel right on the bank of one of the lakes in Guatapé, nice design and nice rooms with relatively high price, supposed to be a luxury hotel but unfortunately there were no hot water in the shower ( for the 2 days we spent there) …and the more annoying part was that the hotel stuff were trying to convince us that the cold water are “medium temperature” which we can take a shower with..

We loved this hotel. They have about 16 rooms and it has a very homey feel. The manager is on site and always around if you need anything. The hotel is located on Guatape Lake and is absolutely gorgeous. We ended up staying here one night so that we can visit El Peñol and Guatape town and we’re really glad we did. Our room was huge with a hot tub on the balcony and views of the lake. The hot tub was very hot and perfect after the day of climbing the rock! Breakfast was very good. It was not buffet style, but a la cart and included . The gym had views of the lake and the hotel offers yoga, kayaking etc at an additional cost. Tau house is super peaceful and set on an idyllic back drop and perfect for relaxation! I would recommend staying here one night if you’re visiting Guatape.

The best experience ever. This place is a 10 out of 10 I love the atmosphere. The room was impecable and beautiful. The view was amazing!!!! The staff is extremely friendly. If I can say something that I was expecting and didn't get was A/C rooms or a ceiling fan would of been better than the floor fan we got because it honestly didn't help much. Was sweating through the night. But, even we that. I loved every minute I stayed there Will definitely comeback.

Honestly this hotel was beautiful and really won our hearts!! We actually did not to leave we wanted to live here!!!! The area, the building , the beautiful decor and views were outstanding! The staff were so attentive, friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble!! Please if you are reading this and are wondering whether to go or not …. Just book it you won’t be disappointed!!!

Great boutique and modern hotel right next to La Piedra del Peñol. The staff and amenities are amazing. The restaurant serves delicious food. Daniela and Lorena in the front desk will help you with your every need and Alejandro, Carlos and Cesar will serve the best food and drinks.

We LOVE Guatape and Tau House. It has such a great feeling here. The decor is beautiful, the staff are truly amazing people. Getting into town was so easy and such a quick trip. The front staff would order a tuk tuk for us. The bartender is a top notch mixologist. Highly recommend his cocktails. We had wine by the fire pit every night. Breakfast is sooooo good. I absolutely loved everything about our stay here My soul was so happy here

DO NOT BOOK HERE !!! Unless you check all the roads ahead of your trip!!!! YOU WILL LOOSE ALL YOUR MONEY! This place doesn't care about you at all, they know the roads to the hotel are sometimes impossible to transit or much worse closed and they are not sensitive in this regard at all. The Roads that lead to the HOTEL were closed on the date of our trip travelling with kids, and they didn't care at all, they kept all of our booking fees and didn't have the courtesy to refund us any money back. My family called and basically they hang up on us. No Customer service, No Refunds. They gave us an alternate route but unless you are willing to risk your life then don't do it. There is many other Hotels - AVOID THIS ONE.

The road to Guatape was blocked due to an accident that unfortunately took two lives (November 18th, 2023). Tau house knows the turbulent history of those roads to their hotel, that's probably why they make you pay 100% in advance, since these road closures occur quite frequently. When calling the hotel, the only solution they proposed was to take a detour on a street that was obviously in much worse condition; a one-way street where the cars that wanted to get to Guatape had congested it so much that it resulted in people forcing it into a highly congested double-lane road. The other solution was to take another much longer detour through an unsecure area. After traveling a whole day from Los Angeles, with two children, neither of the two options offered by the hotel was realistic; the lady who took the phone was not empathetic at all with the situation and basically told us that it was our problem and that they would not return the money. Terrible customer service, the worst I have known. If you pay for your reservation in advance and they close the road(s), count on losing your money and receiving the worst customer service.
