Danhostel Grindsted-Billund

We dont expect to much as we think it is not so expensive place. Our room was nice and spacious for us 5 . I hope next time or if they have time to fix the childrens playground because the tarpoline looks dangerous for kids now.

Stayed at the Danhostel Grindsted for one night in May 2022. The accommodation itself is in a great location near to the bus station and a short walk from shops and supermarkets. This is particularly useful if you're visiting Billund but be aware this is a 20 minute bus journey or expensive taxi ride away. The rooms are dorm style and private, there is a bathroom with a shower and sink, although mine didn't have any soap (you'll need to bring your own) and the shower was really not much use at all. It's really important to note that bed linen and towels are NOT included in the price and quite an expensive extra if you fully occupy the room. You can bring your own though if you wish. The linen I had was a little soiled however the reception is not manned so you can't speak to anyone about it in person. If you open a second pack they will ensure you are charged for it, so bear this in mind. A few other things to note is that there was a gap you can see through around the windows (ok when I visited but will let a draught through in winter I guess), the electric socket was broken and not working and you must clean your room yourself before departing, empty the bin, etc or they might charge you for that too. Overall I am disappointed with the accommodation and when I complained a week after departing was told that they "cannot accept complaints almost 10 days after check in". So not great customer service.

Positive: Nice people working there. Good size room. Not very expencive. Free parking. Negative: Gum pressed into brickwall beside bed, little writing on walls, one main light did not work. When shower the whole floor gets wet.

Great trip. Hostel is well located with excellent facilities and helpful staff. Highly recommend.

Opholdet var en fin oplevelse. Vi havde brug for et sted at overnatte i forbindelse med noget familiefest. Det var fine dyner og hovedpuder og der var alt det nødvendige. Når jeg ikke scorer helt i top, skyldtes det, at der var lidt lydt på værelset - fra naboværelser og fra vejen - og lidt træk fra vinduerne.

Sono stato con mia moglie in questa struttura per 4 notti utilizzando la stanza 17A. La posizione è perfetta, a 20 metri dalla stazione degli autobus, da cui si può facilmente raggiungere Billund Airport, Legoland e Billund Centro ed è a due passi dal centro di Grindsted. Personale gentile e disponibile (parla solo Danese e Inglese e l'ho incontrato solo una volta in quanto ricordo che si tratta di un ostello). Non è stato possibile utilizzare i riscaldamenti in camera in quanto sembravano bloccati a 22 gradi. Per fortuna non faceva freddo dentro la stanza 17A utilizzata in cui abbiamo trovato 6 letti, 4 letti a castello e 2 uniti per creare il letto matrimoniale (Ho utilizzato 2 set di lenzuola e tovaglie per 20 euro totale da pagare a parte). Nel bagno la doccia è a filo con il pavimento (non vi è il piatto doccia) per cui se si apre troppo il rubinetto si rischia di allagare tutto. Rapporto qualità prezzo da rivedere. Wi-FI ottimo. Non abbiamo utilizzato la cucina
