Galway Bay Sea View Apartments

Circumstances meant we were staying in Galway for an undisclosed period of time. Regretfully where we had been staying previously was not available, so we booked Galway Bay Seaview Apar**ents. The check in was automated, easy and clear instructions meant it was seamless. The public areas were tired, with rubbish on the floors and in the lift, a little disappointing. We were staying in a penthouse apar**ent and were disappointed. The rooms were large, although looked tired and functional, especially the bathrooms. The decor was uninspiring and the furniture basic. Compared to the previous apar**ent, the cost was significantly more for significantly less. There is private parking, however it is clear that people using local bars/restaurants use the car park too, parking was a struggle for us on a couple of evenings, although there is a large car park opposite. We wouldn’t stay again and were glad to move on.

I spent few days with my family and we found this accommodation very nice: good location outside the city center but not too far from it, wonderful see view from the rooms, very clean, private parking. We had a problem with the automated check in kiosk but in less than 20 minutes the staff came over to fix it. Only real drawback is the noise from the road during the early morning hours.

Accommodation on the sea front was lovely even though Storm Debi did her best to spoil it with high winds and flooding. Salthill is a bustling suburb and has everything you need, pubs, restaurants and lovely views

These apar**ents were excellent. Wonderfully situated. Easy walk to the beach and into town. Lovely little restaurants and a bakery nearby. The high diving board just across the road was an extra treat. We missed having real people to deal with at check-in but the automated service was efficient and it all worked well.

Our family of three (two adults and one child) enjoyed our stay in the Galway Bay Sea View Apar**ents. Our two-bedroom, top floor apar**ent was very clean and well stocked with basic kitchen supplies. The building itself was very quiet. The process for checking in was interesting. Instead of meeting a person, there is an automated check-in machine that dispenses keys, etc., in the lobby. The property management team did a great job of communicating the instructions for checking in, so it was really easy. The location is very nice. You are a bit outside of town, but in the more "resort" area of Galway. There are plenty of nearby restaurants (including an Italian/Pizza place in the building itself that was good). There weren't any grocery stores within walking distance, but they were within a short drive and we took advantage of the kitchen and doing some of our meals "at home". Our stay was pretty brief. This would have been a nice place for a longer stay. Parking was in the back of the building. It seemed pretty full, but we were always able to find an open spot. The beds and bedrooms were comfortable as was the living room area. The property and our apar**ent were in good repair and clean. We would definitely recommend these apar**ents to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Galway that's a bit different form staying in a hotel.

We were excited and eager to visit Galway and the view was pretty . However, we soon realized from all of our days and stays across Ireland, and having the most beautiful experience even when hiccups occurred this location would be the pit of our trip. We had plans to wash our clothes and enjoy our trip with 1 less worry, yet, the washer would take our clothes and soil it, the door jammed, washed “our clothes” and was boiling our clothes, we communicated the issue and got a “received” , no offer to help. We figured it out eventually and washed at a local laundromat. (Please note this was not a user error, the machine was faulty and even when we took the clothes out it was doing random things and all lights were on, so clearly faulty) During our attempts to sleep, the sheets were clearly not washed and the other set, hard and scratchy, unbearable to sleep in, and the beds caused back aches (we are not older folks, so the beds were clearly bad). Communication was non existent , and support was clearly not provided

We stayed in one of the 1-bedroom suites here at Galway Bay Sea View. The room was horrible. Most of the suites in the apar**ent are two bedrooms and laid out properly. There is one 1-bedroom per floor and it is just extra space cobbled into a room. All spaces were odd shaped. Bathroom is tiny and triangular shaped. There is literally 1 inch clearance between toilet and bathroom door as it swings open. The sink is tucked away behind the door. In the odd shaped bedroom, the corner of the bed is no more than 8 inches clear from the armoire. The walls are stark and the floor are cold. There is nothing warm or charming about these rooms. To be fair, the owners of this old property have done a lot to make improvements (just lots more to do). The views of Galway Bay are fantastic and the location in Salthill is excellent. (the balcony is a steel plate underfoot and not welcoming. I had to fight with the door latch) They have good security, spaces are clean, hot water is fine, kitchen is fine, on property support is available. Check-in-out system worked perfectly. Bottom line "this place is improving, just has a way to go" . . don't order up the 1-bedroom suite.

The good: We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apar**ent with a kitchen, living room, and deck. The living room wall facing the bay is glass with a fantastic view. The furniture was basic. There is an oven, stove, microwave, full-size fridge, and a washing machine. If you were staying awhile in Galway this would be an affordable solution. The not so good: Checkin/checkout is electronic with a small window Am and PM of operation. There is no one working on site, which was an issue. There is a large binder in the apar**ent that provides the details on everything from how to get hot water and turn on the heat to emergency numbers. There are few cooking utensils in the kitchen and no staples at all. The bad: there was a horrible smell in the apar**ent when we arrived. Eventually we discovered an un-flushed toilet. Also, that bathroom had not been cleaned and there were no towels—and no one to contact about it! The bathtub in the 2nd bath was dirty, and the floors were all dirty. After we woke the next day we didnt have hot water. We discovered from reading the binder, that the hot water had been turned off. We had to turn it on and then boost it to get warm water for showers.
